The Ecommerce Trading Manager is responsible for setting the direction and performance of Boden’s product digitally, merchandising the range online across all digital sites and markets to meet our customers wants and needs. You will work closely with the global Product (and Merchandise), Brand and Marketing teams to share performance insights and agree business priorities to create opportunities, drive sales and revenue growth.
Work with the Customer, Product and Country teams to understand priorities, agree customer journey, trading, seasonal communication plans and promotional markdown strategies. Review risks and identify opportunities to drive growth.
Support teams with quarterly planning forecasts driven from historic analysis, customer behaviour and strategic vision.
Work with the Digital Production Manager to plan and create seasonal searches, product sequencing and categories that reflect the customer calendar and seasonal trends whilst optimising SEO.
Evaluate product and customer performance, making decisions to optimise based on the agreed metrics to support the business goals at that time.
Ensure the site meets the brand standards for product display, where possible.
Provide clear insight and recommended actions to drive online trading performance to customers, managing sell through and exit margin across categories and countries.
Identify and analyse best-selling and under-performing lines, recommending actions to address in weekly performance reports.
Identifying opportunities to increase average order value and implementing using the tools available to prepare for all major and minor sale events. Provide recommendations to minimise or maximise the impact against KPI’s.
Ensure product information supports customers in their purchase decisions, maximising product discovery, providing accurate and detailed information on current trends, to support the reduction of returns and improve the onsite and offsite search performance.
Incorporate competitive benchmarking of business activity, selling methods and trends to identify opportunities/risks for Boden and recommend actions to address.
Work with the Marketing team to understand site traffic patterns and recommend navigation changes as needed.
Evangelise a culture of data-driven decision making for online merchandising across Boden, ensuring that performance data is accessible and transparent to all areas of the business, supported by presenting monthly and quarterly site performance reports.
Lead by example, promoting a collaborative and open team culture, where team members can share ideas and have a proactive approach to making decisions.
Challenge the status quo, leading to the development of robust testing plans to improve performance or ways of working.
Manage and coach each team member, creating development plans to improve their skills and core competencies.
