Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit an experienced, innovative Editor to play a key role in the editorial development of BBC Ideas; a mobile-first, online product trial.
BBC Ideas will focus on surfacing ‘short-form’ factual content on mobile & digital platforms, in tune with busy users who are on the move, but who want to spend their time finding out more about the world and their place within it. BBC Ideas will make you stop, think & enjoy factual content and ideas, surfaced by a trusted & friendly BBC service.
Working to the Executive Editor, the Editor will play a key role in commissioning digital video from internal providers, independent production companies and by overseeing the reversioning of video and audio content from the BBC archives.
Once the commissioning workflow and content pipeline has been established, the Editor will help cultivate and develop editorial relationships with external bodies and partners, in line with the evolving strategy of BBC Ideas.
