The List by House & Garden is looking for an experienced Editor to work across its multiple platforms both in the UK and internationally.
Juggling numerous tasks across a wide range of platforms; print, digital, and social media, with a key focus on ensuring The List website and brand is kept up to date, on target and on budget. Taking a leadership role within a small team, creating regular content for The List website which is also published on the House & Garden website, submitted accurately and to deadline to ensure smooth delivery of editorial and social media, which run multi-brand and multi-platform, to managing the daily update of new members, as well as liaising and nurturing existing members. Editing The List website and The List Directory (our annual printed edition). Developing ideas for The List, managing budgets and targets, planning an editorial and social media calendar, managing all ads (both print and digital) as well as organising List events and quarterly newsletters.
Responsible for the ongoing improvement of The List’s global branded output, contributing editorial and marketing ideas for future enhancements, projects and events.
Managing all member profile pages, updating information where necessary, as well as selecting and cropping imagery and editing new members copy, on a daily basis via The List CMS.
Running The List by House & Garden Instagram account, developing additional revenue streams, such as paid for takeovers, sponsored posts and competitions.
Managing all social media for The List and ensuring all members are mentioned within their membership period, including daily posts via House & Garden’s Facebook account.
Ensuring all shared spreadsheets are kept up to date with member activity.
Work closely with the Commercial team to design, create, manage promotional material for all new members.
Keeping The List website editorial content up to date and fresh on a daily basis.
Ensuring each Gold member gets their weekly featured landing post on The List and online editorial gallery inclusion.
Scouring the House & Garden magazine dummy each month to ensure all List members are included within the Stockist page.
Creating monthly content for House & Garden’s ‘Designer Insight’ feature. Once published, you will then be responsible for building and editing the full feature online and promoting across social media.
Creating all content as well as commissioning and working closely with a Sub Editor and Art Director on The List Directory (our print edition, published once annually).
Managing The List Directory annual launch party.
Managing The List quarterly newsletter.
Reporting to the Managing Director and Publishing Director with monthly sales figures and updates.
Editing, subbing and checking print and digital proofs for tone, accuracy and potential legal/editorial rights issues.
Working with online, editorial, digital and production teams to ensure the smooth daily running of The List website and brand globally.
Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs and Word.
Experience in digital publishing.
Proficient working with content management systems, and analytic web tools, Inc. Google Analytics.
Experience using and acting on data collected from key analytics tools.
Experience with SEO and ensuring strong key words are employed across the website.
Meticulous time management skills, especially when working to tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, comfortable dealing with all levels of staff as well as directly with members, both disgruntled and delighted.
Excellent organisational skills.
