Spoken word is booming.
At Penguin Random House Audio, the UK's leading audiobook publisher, we are dedicated to making the best audiobooks on the market. Working with exceptional acting talent - from Benedict Cumberbatch to Sian Clifford - we create award-winning audiobooks.
We've had a #1 in the Audible charts on over 50 occasions, most recently with The Handmaid's Tale narrated by Elisabeth Moss, The Secret Commonwealth narrated by Michael Sheen and Heroes narrated by Stephen Fry.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the fast-paced team that is setting a precedent for innovative and ground-breaking work within the audio market. We have an Editorial Assistant role, supporting our audio editorial team. Our mission is to ensure that Penguin Random House Audio is the chosen home for authors, performers and production talent. You'll play an essential part in making that happen.
You will make sure everything runs like clockwork. That means you'll be using your organisational skills daily to oversee schedules for the team, be a master of detail; overseeing our metadata on internal systems (this is how people will discover our products online so it is critical to get it right), briefing and archiving contracts for readers, clearing artwork and making sure things are running as smoothly as possible.
You'll also make sure that everything is in the right place at the right time -making sure manuscripts have arrived in the studio, through to circulating the agendas for team meetings internally.
You'll get the chance to build your Editorial skills too, proof-listening recordings, working with design on our artwork, and writing copy for our audiobooks. You'll do this by working closely alongside internal publishing teams.
If you've got a passion for storytelling, particularly in audio format, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and *cover letter by 17th November 2019.
*In your cover letter please include a little detail about who you are, why you'd be great for this role and why you're interested in joining our Audio team.
