We are looking for an Editorial Coordinator to join the Michael Joseph non-fiction team.
We're looking for someone to be the lynchpin of our fast-paced team. The role is all about being super organised, and helping your colleagues in the editorial team hit key deadlines.
You'll coordinate the smooth running of the team, tracking progress on projects between editorial and other departments such as design, marketing and publicity. You'll arrange important department meetings, from room bookings and agendas to creating presentations, collating advance reading material and taking minutes. There will also be general admin tasks, such as filing, printing and updating databases.
You will also be assisting the Publisher. This includes diary management, planning travel, processing invoices and expenses, and arranging meetings with colleagues around the company and with authors, agents and creative talent. There will be also some editorial tasks involved, such as writing promotional copy or jacket copy and proofreading.
To excel in this role you need to be highly literate and good with detail and accuracy, both for tracking spend and budget in Excel and for proofreading and writing creative copy. You'll also need to have a great customer service attitude as the first point of contact for the team and excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you can keep calm in the face of changing priorities and last-minute requests and you have a head for project management and practicalities, this is the role for you.
The Michael Joseph non-fiction team works across a range of commercial genres, publishing authors such as Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Jamie Oliver, Nadiya Hussain, Gyles Brandreth and Michael McIntyre, to name but a few. An interest in books and reading will help you fit right in.
Please apply with a CV and cover letter by 29th September.
