Forming part of the Advertising and Creative Solutions department, and drawing on sales, key account management, relationship and business-development competence, the European Advertising Manager will be responsible, along with the Associate Publisher – Advertising, for defining and driving the sales strategy for Monocle. In addition to being a strategic sales role, it is also a hands-on and operational one: you will be directly responsible for existing and new business accounts across sectors and key European markets, including Switzerland and Germany.
The role reports to Monocle’s Associate Publisher.
Acting as an advocate and ambassador for the Monocle brand, you will build a strong internal network with commercial, marketing and editorial colleagues, and maintain a close understanding of the editorial output and its relevance to your prospects.
Develop, execute and implement a key account and client-relationship strategy for Monocle in Switzerland and Germany.
Identify and capitalise on new revenue opportunities in your existing/defined field to meet and exceed your revenue goals.
Explore new and existing ways of generating higher revenues in order for Monocle to exceed the targets set in the budget, online and offline, where appropriate.
Manage end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation to customer-relationship management and closing deals.
New business development to include incremental revenue and new business accounts, and work with the Associate Publisher to develop a strategic new-business sales plan with a particular focus on bigger, integrated deals.
Prioritise opportunities, ensuring that maximum customer-facing time is achieved.
Effectively work alongside other stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to customer service and that needs are being met.
Keep up to date with market changes and developments, as well as new products.
Spot market opportunities and develop new products for clients.
