WIRED is looking for a proactive, curious, resourceful and competitive Events Marketing Manager to drive awareness, partnerships and revenue to WIRED’s conference series, a portfolio that includes WIRED Health and WIRED Smarter.
This multi-tasking, customer-facing role requires a commercially-minded marketing professional is extraordinarily organised, deadline-driven and adaptable. Excellent written and verbal communication and impeccable phone manner are must-haves, as well as strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving attitude and the ability to keep up in a fast-paced, “all-hands-on-deck”, team environment.
As this role requires decision-making autonomy, negotiations and small budget management, the ideal candidate must have at least 3 years permanent work experience within the B2B events industry in marketing (or closely related industry/role).

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Work as part of  the Events team on all activities related to WIRED’s events portfolio, including but not limited to:
  • Reporting to the Head of Events on all activities
  • Building and executing the marketing plan for each of your events (as approved by the Head of Events)
  • Generating and managing marketing partner deliverables and implementation, promotional execution and event-specific social activity coordination on your events.
  • Leading the implementation of your marketing plan, including email copywriting, website management, social media promotions, campaign and competitive analysis, data management and reactive campaigns
  • Comprehending topic and audience markets to ensure the success of all campaigns with a focus on quantitative and qualitative outcomes
  • Responsibility for lead segmentation, customer nurturing and community outreach
  • Working with different departments within Condé Nast Britain to help execute larger events strategy.
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Degree-level education or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B events marketing (full-time roles)
  • Willingness to learn, be trained and apply knowledge in the role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Deadline- and target-driven
  • Interest in WIRED, technology and innovation
  • Self-motivated and independent, but proactive team player with interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in fluent English
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Flexible between creative, commercial and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving, resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Must have the confidence and topic knowledge to be able to speak to senior-level executives.
