BitterSuite Executive Director Recruitment
Thank you for your interest in the role of Executive Director at BitterSuite. We are looking for someone to work with BitterSuite Artistic Director Stephanie Singer and the newly formed Board of Trustees as we build on the activity and learnings of 2020.
BitterSuite is a music organisation that re-imagines music performances through multi-sensory concerts. We are at the cusp of setting ourselves up as a charity and have spent the past six months reimagining our work so that it can be experienced in people’s homes. As well as dreaming up larger scale experiences for live set ups.
We are looking for a freelance Executive Director to support the company for a period of 10 days, as we create a strategic plan and fundraising strategy for 2021. We have ambitions for this role to extend beyond 10 days, which is dependent on pending funding bids.
Job Title: Executive Director
Accountable to: Board of Trustees
Reports to: Artistic Director, Chair of Trustees
Terms of Contract: Freelance, 10 days
The Executive Director will work closely with the Artistic Director managing the strategic development and efficient running of BitterSuite. The ED has particular responsibility for financial viability, external relationships and governance.
Act as a critical friend to the artistic team
Develop an organisational strategic plan for 2021 and beyond
Create a fundraising strategy and lead on developing funding applications
Lead on relationship with ITC in relation to setting BitterSuite’s application to become a CIO
Develop and maintain external partnerships with organisations and individuals who can help the company achieve our strategic aims.
Other duties as required by the needs of the company and the Board of Trustees
Relevant experience at a similar level within the creative industries - we are keen to meet people with a broad range of experience
Ability to collaborate effectively within a strategic planning process and to communicate those plans effectively internally and externally
Experience and an interest in fundraising
Experience creating, managing and reporting on budgets
An open, reflective approach to inclusion, diversity and equity
