Penguin is looking for an exceptional Features Editor to join its website team. You will be responsible for writing, editing and commissioning articles that drive book discovery and delight the Penguin audience.
Some of the key responsibilities for the role include:
  • Coming up with ideas for features around books, authors and reading that are topical, surprising and brilliantly executed
  • Discovering and commissioning a diverse range of writers and voices for penguin.co.uk
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with Penguin divisions and working with them on key releases
  • Strategising content around Christmas, summer reads and other key times in the publishing year
  • Strategic implementation of SEO
  • Working closely with design and social media teams on visual and video content
Reporting into the Editor-in-Chief, the ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in a relevant field of digital journalism and significant experience of effectively managing writers. We are looking for someone who has excellent writing and editing skills and a clear passion for reading.
Some of the other key skills and experience include:
  • Significant experience of implementing SEO content strategies
  • A good understanding of the publishing industry
  • A contact book of great writers
  • Highly creative and driven
