Samsung Mobile is one of the largest global accounts for Ogilvy worldwide. Strategy and Creative is led out of London, with multiple network offices utilised for market delivery.
In London, we are responsible for governance of the HQ relationship but also run the European and UK business. The account is B2B (but not B2Boring) and we deliver strong thought leadership content and big creative ideas that play out through the marketing mix. Channels frequently utilised are film, print, digital, content, OOH, social, PR and events.

As with most global accounts, much of our account handling requirement is to ensure tight integration with all the markets whilst delivering leadership. Our clients are all over the world but we have a strong relationship and have more facetime than you might expect. We are a group of specialists with core competencies across account handling, consulting & planning, production and creative.
Consumer Electronics is a very fast paced and interesting category. Samsung technologies then become even more powerful in the context of businesses.
Our clients are based in Korea, so there will be occasional travel to ‘digital city’ near Seoul.
You are great at...
There is a team of approx. 20 people that work across the business for Ogilvy in London. We are looking for someone with a strategic brain and a delivery mind set (can-do attitude) to match Samsung’s company philosophy. They must also be adept at getting along with people & cultures from all around the world.
We are looking for an Account Director with experience at Account Director level.
We are looking for someone who can clearly understand and transition strategic thinking to the work.
They must feel comfortable writing and presenting decks (alongside strategists).
Ideally, they would be well versed in Digital and Content, and would have experience from other 360 accounts. Time spent on a global piece of business would be an advantage.
At any given time there are a number of varied, live work streams, so they must be able to work autonomously whilst keeping the leadership team looped in.
We are looking someone who can also set an example to & mentor junior staff. There are a number of different stakeholders internally (Ogilvy US) and client (Corporate & region) so we need someone who can manage this tightly.
They will also need to work closely with a number of other external partners.
Obviously at this level we would expect the candidate to be financially aware and able to manage project budgets efficiently.
The candidate should have experience managing and developing more junior staff.
B2B experience would be great, but is not a necessity.
The candidate will report to the Client Director and be responsible for two direct reports.
