Reporting into the Global Director of Marketing & Communications, this position leads the global PR and Events teams, setting the strategy for brand, product, service, CSR and crisis communications. Aligning all PR teams and agencies globally to ensure consistency in the promotion of NET-A-PORTER from an earned media and event perspective, this person together with the global communications and events team, develops the communications calendar, creates press materials and content which successfully communicate brand and business messages and successfully generates earned media. This position provides brand guardianship on a worldwide level whilst ensuring that local activity is relevant and effective.
Provide strategic support to the Global Director of Marketing and Communications in the management of Global in-house PR teams and agencies which includes:
Taking inspiration from fashion, culture and customer trends to identify brand and story-telling concepts that will resonate with press, influencers and customers.
Interpreting earned media results and using insights to inform future strategy
Managing the global PR calendar and exchanging strategic ideas with the regional teams to consistently gain the desired levels of media exposure
Managing the global communications and events team and ensuring all press materials; releases, campaign and product imagery executive biographies, quotes and fact sheets are up to date, and delivered on time to regional PRs
Leading the communication team who issue PR directives and process guidelines for all initiatives covering all product communications, events, brand and executive profile building; ensure that the NET-A-PORTER.COM story is bought to life consistently across all relevant earned media channels
Providing a reporting framework for the teams so that relevant coverage generated and events executed are reported on consistently. Ensuring consistency across 'breaking news' emails, project summaries, quarterly analysis and coverage archiving
Working with internal spokespeople to ensure press readiness, through briefings, background research, quote preparation and organization of media coaching if needed.
Managing interview requests, providing the teams with feedback so that spokespeople are well prepared and media coverage hits targets
Oversee global event strategy, and manage large-scale global events, while providing strategic oversight and direction for regional events. Ensure all events deliver the fashion spark for incredible women and are on brand.
Liaise with corporate communications and ensure that brand, business and spokesperson messaging is aligned to other Yoox Net A Porter Group messaging, business considerations and calendars.
Champion the Corporate and Social Responsibility strategy for the brand; define opportunities for the brand to express its values through programs that support overall Group programming, while supporting activities that align with our values of Incredible Women, Sustainability, and supporting emerging fashion talent.
Oversee crisis communications liaising with legal, corporate communications as needed, and providing direction to PR, Social and Customer Care teams; manage press
Act as a central touch point for information from internal stakeholders including the Buying, Brand Campaigns, Social Media, Influencer and Affiliates, Media & Brand Partnerships, Creative, Content, Personal Shopping and Client Relations, Customer Care teams.
Attend weekly Brand Council meeting and communicate opportunities and business priorities where relevant to the PR teams and agencies
Work closely with the Social media team and brief on all events and product launch initiatives
Work closely with the Affiliates team across all relevant projects
Work closely with the buying team to surface collection investment and fashion trends
10+ years experience in luxury and/or fashion PR
Awareness of fashion trends, influencers and stylists
Interest and awareness of competitive fashion media and brand environment
Experience with media, online marketing and/or ecommerce marketing strategies
Strong communications skills, and ability to present ideas and strategy in visually impactful presentations, charts and calendars
Ability to effectively manage timelines and coordinate internal and external teams to deliver results
