Description

Who we are:
As a publishing platform founded to cultivate and celebrate the intersection of football, fashion and culture, SoccerBible is dedicated to shaping the perception of football and its relationship with contemporary culture. This passion and approach set new standards of innovation in creativity and communication. With a monthly reach of 6M+ across platforms, SoccerBible is among the most influential publications in football culture. The unique stories we tell and the diverse subjects we touch combine to ignite real consumer engagement and form a creative legacy to football. As a hybrid media agency organisation, we work hand-in-hand with our brand partners to create unique visual conversations and authentic storytelling. Our ideas continue to redefine football culture and inspire positive change.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a forward-thinking mid-weight Graphic Designer to play a key role in shaping the overall brand identity and aesthetic of SoccerBible. As a key creative figure in the team, your design capabilities will be embedded as a core feature of the work we create here. Our ideal candidate has a unique perspective on how a publication can become a creative leader in the digital and social media landscape, using Instagram as its premier platform. You will be hands-on, crafting design projects and managing the visual direction of creative concepts, social content, activations, partnership campaigns and presentations. We are looking for a well-rounded creative designer who is ready to showcase their talent and take the next step in their career. This opportunity will enable you to work with some of the world's biggest brands and be part of shaping the visual future of a hugely influential platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of what SoccerBible represents, our audience and our brand position in the football media landscape.

What you will do:
  • Contribute to shaping the next chapter of SoccerBible's brand identity and design language.
  • Influence our brand guidelines for all areas of visual communication.
  • Maintain a stand-out 'look and feel' for our creative assets, keeping up to date with emerging trends in lifestyle, fashion, design and seasonal art direction.
  • Hands-on ability to execute creative assets across a range of projects, including graphic layouts, typography, motion design and video editing for multiple platforms.
  • Work with the Head of Creative & Activations to respond to creative briefs.
  • Manage day-to-day requests and produce reactive content whilst maintaining the ability to consider the bigger picture.
  • Produce engaging, social media (especially Instagram)-optimized visual assets — from conceptual images to animated graphics, zines, original artwork, and more.
  • Work closely with the editorial team to contribute to creative concepts and develop the visual direction for projects.
  • Design and assist the development of documents and creative presentations.

The skills and experience you will need:
  • Experience working across a wide range of design disciplines, with a focus on digital design.
  • Exceptional portfolio of digital designs.
  • Demonstrable experience creating visual content proven to garner social media engagement.
  • Strong storytelling capability and understanding of audience development.
  • Understanding of football culture and SoccerBible’s brand/audience is highly preferred.
  • Strong visual eye and attention to detail with a proven ability to think strategically and critically about creative conversations.
  • Ability to work on time-sensitive, ad-hoc content in a reactive and collaborative team environment.

What you get:
  • The unique opportunity to pro-actively shape SoccerBible’s visual identity.
  • Unique projects and working with high profile clients.
  • A vibrant & passionate culture, reinforced by regular social touchpoints, in and out of work.
  • An optional remote or studio work plan (location depending) – our HQ is based in Devon, United Kingdom.
  • 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) which increases with length of service.
  • Staff discount of 30% in partnership with Pro:Direct Sport.
  • Workplace Pension through Royal London.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • We have a ‘Refer a friend’ policy, with bonus rewards for successful referrals.
  • Seasonal shut down over the Christmas period with a gifted day of annual leave.
