We’re looking for a versatile Junior Content Designer to play an essential role in our Content team and to work alongside the PR and Social departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong core skill set of layout and image-making skills but will also be someone comfortable pitching in with ideation and concepts for content creation briefs. The role is multi-faceted ranging from Graphic Design through to image and content creation for social media. Experience in digital design and motion graphics will be considered a distinct advantage.
The role will suit Junior Designers with 1+ years marketing, design or agency experience.
Ensure Canoe look and feel is implemented across all internal outlets - Website/Social/Comms/Decks etc
Take the lead to ensure all 'other' and ad-hoc design-related requirements are supported. From printing to inhouse design/Event support etc
Have an excellent understanding of all necessary software - show initiative to train where necessary to keep abreast of updates and new software developments
Be able to lead creative solutions /solve design questions and show results
Demonstrate a solutions mindset to the creative department, one that is continuously striving to iterate and improve on existing assets and solutions
Strong studio photographic skills are a must
Have the ability to develop a shoot from concept to completion
Demonstrate experience working with production or independently to organise all accessories, locations and logistics for a small to medium scale shoot
Have competent editing skills with an appetite to further develop
Work with client or client lead to developing comprehensive shot lists (understand the importance of usable assets and usage rights)
Demonstrate excellent use of all Photography equipment - be able to train or share basics with others in the team
Demonstrate a proactive mindset to photography within Canoe i.e. recognise opportunities that can be leveraged as content/brand assets
Demonstrate a social-first midst to creative ideation
Support social team to provide all design needs
Work with the social team where necessary to help in the development of content and strategy ideas and realisation
Provide support to edit or amend existing assets from clients
Contribute to an idea, strategy and new business sessions
Clients and external communication
Demonstrate the ability to manage client and internal workload on behalf of agency/ team - have a clear understanding of when and how to communicate/feedback
Organise and implement regular communication in order to keep clients abreast of your work
Ensure constant evaluation/reporting of all work. Develop and implement efficient and effective methods of sharing work done to both internally/externally
Show accountability in terms of managing your client work, reporting back regularly to the account lead/senior team member
Have and develop a broad network of freelancers that can support any potential project - work to expand regularly, maintain and share databases
Be a self-starter - a small team requires someone who can self manage workload and demonstrates excellent communication skills both internally and externally
Pay particular attention to creative property and storage areas: ensuring daily check-ins are conducted or delegated
Maintain and develop basic systems to ensure all your work is regularly updated for web/social and filed
Assist with the day to day running of creative and production in the office - be available to support production staff, offer clear solutions support accordingly
