The Digital department is tasked with maximising commercial revenue across Channel 4’s digital business, consisting of All 4 and 4Sales’ third party publisher representation including but not exclusive to UKTV and BT Sport. Revenue is generated through standard and interactive video and display formats as well as integrated partnership campaigns.
The Group Digital Manager (GDM) is responsible for maximising commercial revenue through an agency and client portfolio by delivering digital trading deals and selling creative solutions across C4’s online and VoD output.
This involves leading, managing and motivating a specialist digital team to reach revenue goals, achieve excellent agency service levels and ensure all members of the team flourish by maintaining a professional and dynamic environment. Additionally, the GDM must build and maintain senior agency contacts across digital, TV and planning departments as well as assist and support senior management in the smooth day-to-day running of the department
Work with Digital Lead and Agency Investment Lead in the annual negotiation of revenue commitments for agency groups, adhering to the pricing and sales strategies set by the Deputy Head of Digital Innovation and Head of Digital Innovation and Partnerships
Build and maintain a high market profile with a set of senior agency contacts (HoD level) from within defined agency group ensuring they are kept fully up to date with the Channel 4 digital proposition
Proactively pitching to agencies for specific online and VoD business and answering agency briefs; This includes:
1. Pitching new products, propositions, platforms as developed by the Digital Lead
2. Adhering to the pricing and sales strategy set by the Digital Lead
3. Working with the Campaigns & Projects team and other departments as necessary for successful campaign implementation
4. Likely to work on the most complex or largest briefs
Work with other members of the integrated sales team and other departments to promote C4’s full range of offer including cross-platform propositions
Support Agency Sales Lead in executing agency plan
Develop key materials to present to agencies or internally with other commercial managers and more senior staff
Manage agency relationships on an on-going basis to ensure revenue maximisation going forward and be the escalation point for digital issues
Work with Agency Sales Lead to ensure team achieves the highest standards of service levels across relevant agencies
Ensure direct reports have high market visibility and a reputation for sales excellence and are working to a coherent and challenging development plans
Influence senior product (editorial) management to ensure commercial requirements are met
Help maintain a stimulating, dynamic and “do it first” sales environment
Represent Channel 4’s Digital offering and Broadcaster Vod to the market and to the wider advertising community E.g. Thinkbox and other market bodies and events.
Maintain and share with the wider agency group a deep understanding of the digital landscape and its strategic impact on Channel 4
