Quintessentially is looking for an experienced and personable Group Head of Human Resources for a maternity cover contract. This is a dynamic role to direct and manage the HR function at our London HQ office. This is an exciting, all-encompassing HR generalist position where you will be pivotal in the development of a high performing culture and workforce.

The Group Head of Human Resources main duties & responsibilities:

  • To be a trusted advisor on all employment issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, maternity, paternity, flexible working, shared parental leave, working time directive, diversity, equality, discrimination, equal pay and TUPE
  • To manage the restructuring of the business
  • To manage the recruitment process from start to end, attracting high quality candidates using cost efficient methods
  • To manage the bi-annual appraisal process and mentor program to aid employee development
  • To ensure all HR policies and procedures are up to date in line with new employment legislation and communicated effectively
  • To oversee the HR & Office Management budgets
  • To manage company Health & Safety and chairing the quarterly Health & Safety meetings
  • To manage the development of employee well-being initiatives and programs with the HR Manager
  • To manage the implementation and roll out of a HR system – TBC

Working hours:

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm


  • CIPD Level 5+ qualified or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 5 years leading & developing a HR team, ideally within hospitality or a luxury service industry
  • Experience of being part of a senior leadership team and making meaningful contributions to strategic decision making
  • Familiarity with influencing, mediating and conflict resolution
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building, management and employee coaching skills
  • Ability to understand comprehensive information
  • Demonstrable understanding of good practice and employment law
