We at Mags Creative are looking for an ambitious, creative-thinker to join our fast-growing team at our well-respected podcast studio. In a short space of time, we have quickly established ourselves as a leading independent podcast studio, producing some of the UK’s biggest shows such as Deliciously Ella Podcast and Castaway with Laura Whitmore and reaching over 350,000 ears every week. We have huge ambitions and believe fiercely in the power of audio to connect people.
We’re looking for an individual with a background in sales and business development to come on board and spearhead the growth of the business. The individual will be responsible for driving revenue within the business, both via podcast sponsorship deals and podcast production deals. This role will suit someone with a clear, organised approach to work who is also able to think and work creatively. Working directly with the co-founder and CEO of the business, as well as managing a Partnerships Executive, you’ll develop and execute the commercial growth strategy for 2020 and beyond.
This is not a ‘Head of Sales’ role as you’ll be required to think inventively, laterally and creatively to come up with new business strategies, as well as selling podcast sponsorship to brands in the traditional sense. The industry is in a time of huge change, and this allows us to experiment and define the way things are done - a real opportunity for the right person in this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
Overall responsibility for the commercial growth of the business
Pitch to brands, talent and partners
Produce well thought out quotes and pitch documents
Implement and execute a tracking system (most likely a CRM) to manage leads
Formulate, work-up and present new business ideas - either commercial ideas, opportunities for growth or areas to develop
Report frequently to the rest of the company on statuses of conversations and leads
Ensure that Production team are kept up to date with upcoming work
Attend industry conferences, events, networking opportunities and represent Mags Creative professionally, making sure to identify any potential lead opportunities
Maintain positive relationships with clients to source and keep track of testimonial content
Management of Partnerships Executive
Directly report into the CEO of the business and work closely with them to develop new business strategies
Skills and experience should include:
Excellent communication skills - across both written and verbal - with a clarity of expression and attention to detail
Solution oriented - we’re a young, growing business and things are constantly shifting and changing. You’ll need to be prepared to think creatively and get your hands dirty
Process driven - you’ll love bringing order to chaos and being able to clearly track progress and communications
Existing network within agencies and brands would be a bonus - otherwise a willingness to quickly make connections
Results driven - you’ll know that results matter and you’ll ensure we’re on top of everything opportunity, bringing it to fruition wherever we can
