As our Head of Creative, you will be a conceptual thinker with a keen commercial awareness. Your primary focus is to lead the Design team and provide the strategic direction that enables us to formulate the innovative ideas that propel our business. You will immerse yourself in accelerating technologies, so we are able to implement disruptive and exponential change, offering our clients a creative solution that goes far beyond the traditional remit.
You will lead and inspire the Design team, ensuring that their creative output achieves the very highest standards and delivers fantastic business results. Working in collaboration with the rest of the Marketing function and the wider cross-functional teams, you will have a bold and clear creative vision that will excite clients, and allow the Sales teams to pitch for a variety of creatively-driven projects. You will be passionate and have a keen interest in identifying trend intelligence.
Leading your design team; ensuring that projects are briefed accurately, direction is given effectively, and work is produced on time and to brief, with best in class standards.
Identifying trends to inspire your team, the wider business and clients ensuring that the company’s reputation of being ahead of the curve is maintained.
Having full visibility of the progress of all design projects; ensuring that deadlines are hit.
Assisting your team, giving them support and direction but also building their confidence to allow them to make the right creative decisions.
Meeting regularly with the Marketing Director to review final creative work.
Personally, working on multiple large-scale design projects across different categories for multiple retailers / brands.
Working closely with the brand and product team, reviewing and critiquing all product samples, making sure that they are fit for purpose from a creative and design standpoint.
Playing a key role at client meetings, sitting alongside the brand, product and sales teams, helping to present ideas which will help win new business for the company.
Prepare and deliver new client presentations and assist the sale process from the initial pitch through to contract and build the subsequent relationship.
Share responsibility for delivering large tender presentations, understanding client key objectives and brand identity.
Investigate and sample new technologies that can broaden the role of the Creative team, and offer disruptive and exciting change to the sector.
Market the success and achievements of the Creative team to all Stakeholders.
Assist the Senior Management team with general company strategy.
Work as an ambassador of the company to promote Matrix’s total offerings.
Visits key trade fairs and factory showrooms to expand product knowledge and build relationships.
Being the guardian of corporate identity and branding, and how this shows up in promotional material, trade fair assets and other marketing collateral.
Ensuring the team’s design time is accurately recorded in our systems and identifying and monitoring key metrics to measure efficiency and success.
7+ years design experience.
Previous leadership, coaching and mentoring of a multi-skilled design team is essential.
Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills required.
Graphic Design qualification beneficial but not essential.
Strong portfolio full of successful, trend driven products that demonstrates your market awareness, idea generation and commercial pragmatism.
