The Digital Content team commissions and produces all output for social media, websites, apps, podcasts and branded content. Reporting to ITV's Director of Media, the role of Head of Digital Content is an exciting opportunity to lead digital content strategy for the UK's largest commercial broadcaster, supporting both viewer marketing, consumer marketing and commercial priorities on a maternity cover contract.
What this role will entail...
As Head of Digital Content, you will build an industry-leading content machine. You'll lead a team focused on producing best in class content that grows and enhances the ITV brand, generates product sales, and reimagines how branded content is delivered for our commercial partners. The role will lead a team that intimately understands our current and desired audience, and the best way to leverage social channels to get our content in front of them. You will work closely with the paid media team to ensure we are ahead of the curve in how we best utilise media platforms to project all that is ITV to the world and take advantage of the most effective ways of distributing content, using audience insights to further develop content with the highest engagement rates.
Some Key Responsibilities:
Lead an industry leading digital content function, setting the content strategy, business KPIs and coordinating the delivery of across all ITV channels, programmes and initiatives. Ensure as part of this strategy, ITV remain at the forefront of innovation and technology.
Lead, coach and develop a team of 6 direct reports, with an overall responsibility for a team of over 40 people.
Set and enforce the strategic principles of what content we produce and why, working closely with the broader media and analytics team to ensure the measures of success are aligned to the business strategy and priorities.
Collaborate with broader media team and media owners - owned TV, CRM, digital content creation - to ensure all content plans are integrated with broader media strategy.
Exploit insight and segmentation to further develop viewer affinity by delivering more personalised marketing communications.
Oversee digital content budget, ensuring spend is used effectively and efficiently, and meets all set targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across ITV, gaining their buy in and engagement for digital content plans.
Work with the paid media team to discover new opportunities for content distribution & ways to monetise them.
Work closely with the digital product teams to ensure viewer facing propositions are fit for purpose and deliver the digital content strategy effectively.
Collaborate closely with the Commercial team to develop concepts and then execute all required deliverables for partner branded content
Collaborate closely on talent management and right negotiations, leveraging our digital capability to improve the programme offering at ITV.
Highly experienced in all types of digital content, with considerable experience in social marketing techniques (both organic and paid)
Demonstrated ability to define business KPIs for digital content, and implement a category leading digital content strategy which improves these KPIs]
Leadership experience, with strong track record of building strong teams across multiple locations.
An understanding of how to use insight and data to better target content to relevant audiences
Passionate about accountability and effectiveness, with experience using data and insight to guide the development of better performing content.
Understanding of editorial & commercial direction & ability to ensure digital content meets needs in these areas.
Able to provide guidance and direction to a number of different projects across multiple different genres
