We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, confident, digitally savvy Head of PR to join our award winning Penguin Random House Children's PR team. We work with some of the world's biggest global brands and authors including Roald Dahl, Peppa Pig, Jeff Kinney, Jacqueline Wilson, Tom Fletcher, Philip Pullman, Zoella and Malorie Blackman to name but a few, not forgetting the enduring Ladybird and Puffin brands. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for helping to manage and develop the team, create and drive innovative, impactful publicity campaigns which get into the hearts and minds of our consumers and, working closely with the PR Director and Deputy PR Director, support the team in demonstrating their results.
You will represent a strong voice in the division and establish yourself as a trusted expert for colleagues and contacts. You will manage a small team within the PR team, and will build strong working relationships with authors/agents and external stakeholders to provide the highest level of author care.
The PR team are dedicated and hard-working so you'll need to be as committed to and passionate about our brands and connecting children with stories as they are. The ideal candidate will have management experience and a proven publicity track record - within publishing is not required.

Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and implementing consumer and B2B publicity campaigns
Conceiving/organising valuable events e.g. festival, theatre, schools' & media showcases
Helping to lead the Children's Publicity team
Managing individual campaign and event budgets and supporting on delivery of annual PR budget
Developing new media contacts to reach new audiences
Overseeing and writing pitches to secure new talent
Internal and external presentations
Ensuring Sales and all internal departments are kept up to date and aware of publicity activity
Author, agent, licensor relationships
Deputising for PR Director and Deputy Director, attending key meetings when necessary
Please note, this role will require some out of hours' work, covering evening and weekend events where necessary.
