Phillips is currently seeking an organised and motivated individual to fill a fixed-term Internship in the 20th Century and Contemporary Art department, focussing primarily on Modern and Post War art, commencing in September 2019 to December 2019.
Based at our London Headquarters in Berkeley Square, the primary focus of the internship will be to provide support to our Modern and Post War specialists, gaining valuable insight into the day to day operations of a successful international auction house.
The intern will assist in carrying out a range of daily tasks that support successful delivery of sales administration, helping the intern to gain experience that contributes to their own professional development.
Typical tasks will include:
Administration including preparation of documents
Liaison with Modern and Post War specialists in other regional offices, particularly our Paris office
Deputising for the executive assistant, to book travel and undertake basic administrative support, as and when required
The internship would be suitable for applicants with a passion for Modern and Post War art but we would also welcome applications from candidates with an interest in art more generally. The successful candidate will be a history of art graduate (or other relevant major) and will possess superior attention to detail skills and an exceptional level of accuracy. In addition, the candidate should have superior communication skills, with a fluency in both English and French, both in spoken and written language, with the ability to deal effectively and efficiently with multiple tasks while working to meet strict deadlines.
Hours of work are 40hpw (9am to 6pm) and internships are paid at national minimum wage.
This is a fixed-term internship placement. All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK as we are unable to assist with visa applications for our internship placements.
