We are looking for an organised and creative Interpretation Editor to join the Interpretation Team. We need an accomplished individual with experience in editing to deliver and maintain the diverse range of gallery text required for interpretation at the V&A. S/he will have experience of working in a museum or similar cultural institution, and/or a publishing environment.
The post holder will edit panel and label text for the permanent galleries, displays and temporary exhibitions, ensuring that it is clearly written, engaging and intellectually accessible in line with V&A text guidelines and the museum’s interpretation strategy. S/he will also edit digital content when required, and resources for the Learning Department for a range of audiences, including children, for both print and the web.
This requires the ability to work well with curatorial and project teams to deliver appropriate, clear and imaginative interpretive text. This is a part time post, required to work on individual projects in liaison with the V&A’s full time Interpretation Editor. We need a person with a pro-active approach, and the ability to respond flexibly to the demands of the role and the complexities of managing time effectively and productively. Hours of working to be agreed with the Head of Interpretation.
Closing date for receipt of applications is midnight on Sunday 27th August 2017.
Interviews to be held week commencing Monday 11th September 2017.
Interview expenses will not be paid unless there is a prior agreement.
