Description

The Junior Apparel Designer is responsible for supporting the design of products across the Rapha apparel range and helps ensure that the range delivers unique products that lead the market in performance, quality and style. The role is an opportunity to develop real world design, problem solving and organisational skills by working alongside a team of experienced Designers and Product Engineers in creating innovative, relevant and well resolved products in-line with the company values, timelines and strategic goals.
THE ROLE:
  • Support and work on product designs and projects across Rapha's apparel collections,
  • Assist in the delivery of all projects on time and business targets.
  • Create and maintain accurate product cads and detailed information, fit, fabric & features
  • Support the design team on day to day processes, updates and workload as well as supporting on maintaining accurate Overviews across collections
  • Participate in reviews of factory samples as part of XF teams, participate in fit sessions and
  • provide ideas for trim executions, construction and sewing sequence improvements
  • Actively participate in team discussions and presentations, as well as support in setting up for
  • reviews
  • Work closely with the Atelier team to understand our fit blocks, ensure consistency in fit and
  • Functionality
  • Work closely with the merchandising & supply chain teams to ensure product costings & MOQ targets.
  • Work closely with the Design team on story telling, seasonal concept and colour and help create a clear vision for each product and across the category
THE CANDIDATE:
  • 2-4 years experience within the apparel design industry
  • Approach all projects with passion, curiosity and tenacity
  • Exemplify the Rapha standard for design and storytelling. Inspire others to do the same
  • Be approachable and collaborate internally and externally to deliver truly excellent work
  • Balance commercial imperatives with the need to constantly push the boundaries of design
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills
  • Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a clear passion and understanding for the sport
