Junior Producer - Freelance
Wieden & Kennedy London is looking for a junior content producer to join their in-house production department on a freelance basis. We are currently looking for a junior content producer with experience in post-production and/or commercial editing to be part of our in-house production team on a freelance basis. The junior content producer will work closely with our in-house editors, and full-time production team in producing a range of content, starting with internal films for WK clients, which can include moodfilms, case studies, hype films and photography shoots and the odd online content or social media campaign. The in-house production team works closely with account managers, creatives and TV producers within the agency, providing editing and post-production support to all film and video projects made in-house. This role is ideal for anyone looking to develop their production experience and build on their existing network.
There is room to take on larger projects within the department, but the existing requirement is to support the existing production team with overflow of internal films. The role has the flexibility to be both remote, but at times will required to be in-person in the office as we gradually open up.
You will be paid a day rate and hired on a project-by-project basis. Day rate is dependent on experience.
Resource the job you are assigned, booking editors, photographers or filmmakers and ensuring they are set up with the WK freelance booking system.
Book and secure locations or studios, manage all equipment, transport and pre-production leading up to shoot.
Ballpark or budget the project according to brief, liaising closely with the account manager or TV producer to ensure all costs are covered and approved before working.
Oversee entire production process from start to finish, ensuring delivery is under budget and to highest creative standard.
Create comprehensive timelines for clients and account managers to follow during production. Ensuring production is on time, amending timings when necessary.
Manage the editor or artists time, ensuring they have what they need to succeed on the job, being their voice and communicating feedback when required.
Ensuring all financial / budget paperwork is organised, including full budget and fact sheet reconciliations at the end of each project.
Qualifications and Distinguishing Characteristics:
2-3 years of relevant work experience, assistant producing (or producing) for a post production company, editing company or production company creating short video content.
Understands basic principles of post-production workflow, from ingest of rushes, offline, sound, colour grade, online and delivery.
Understands various codecs, ratios and delivery specs for social media and online delivery standards.
Flexible, creative, tech-savvy, solution-oriented individual with experience in using Adobe Creative Suite’s (Adobe Premiere and After Effects)
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
Keen on building and maintaining strong relationships within the agency (while working remotely AND in person), keeping strong communication with all parties involved during each project.
A natural team leader, taking ownership of each project and leading a team with enthusiasm to deliver a project on time meeting the highest creative standard.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and take on challenging projects with a positive attitude.
Ability to multitask with efficiency, overview, structure, and attention to details.
Detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
Level: Junior to Midweight
