In collaboration with the DWP, our Norwich studio is offering a young person between the ages of 18 and 24 a paid 6 month placement as a Junior Creative Assistant.
The Late Misters is a creative development studio. We help create, develop and present concepts for international commercial campaigns, branded content, music videos, film and television for independent creatives, agencies and production companies across the globe.
This role is an entry level / trainee position, so this would suit anyone with a strong and demonstrable interest in the visual arts - filmmaking, photography and design especially.
This is a pre-production role, not a production or post production opportunity. You should be someone who is excited about working with ideas in the very early stages of realisation. As such, you will need to be comfortable spending long hours sitting at a computer finding the perfect image, the right typeface for a quote or wondering if there’s a better clip to be edited or photoshop to be done of a subject.
You will work closely with the rest of our creative development team, helping our senior Creative Assistants and Consultants to research and design high-level treatments / pitch documents. As such, there will be many opportunities for you to add your own creative input to the projects we develop.
While primarily a supporting role, it will involve handling creative briefs, collecting inspiration and composing rough design templates on your own from time to time. So initiative and focus are key. It will also require liaising with clients, including directors, producers and executive producers on the team’s behalf.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties will include:
General maintenance of the team’s database, files and contact lists
General assistance across our video steaming & social media platforms
Due to the pandemic, this may start as a remote position, so you will need to be comfortable and capable of learning and working from home. We will provide you with all the equipment, training and services you require to do the job during this period.
However, we are in the process of setting up a new central Norwich office. This is likely to be ready early in June and we will be moving back towards a shared office / home working mix. For this reason, the candidate will need to be a Norwich (UK) resident or live within easily commutable distance.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications
Experience of working in advertising, film and television production is helpful, but not essential. Candidates with a background in or passion for graphic design would be ideal though.
You will need to be familiar with:
Adobe InDesign or
Extra points for knowing at least the basics of:
Adobe After Effects
If you dabble in creative writing, drawing, editing, motion graphics, social media or streaming then you may have an edge.
Please send a CV of no more than 2 pages + a short introductory note (or video if that's your thing) to the email below and we will get back to you ASAP. Please do note that this position is being offered in collaboration with the DWP so you will ultimately need to apply for the role through the DWP.
