Reporting to the CD/SAD you will work across both the editorial team, working within design guidelines to artwork digital and video assets across our social channels, websites, video content, and as part of Dazed Studio, the commercial entity of the group developing and artworking digital and video assets, graphic identities and web design for brand partnerships and white label campaigns.
You'll need a keen eye for design, photography, animation and typography and appreciate the fine balance between visual design and digital performance. Experience of working in digital and video is essential, alongside a mobile-first mindset, an ability to absorb and action feedback, and a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will be expected to create designs and assets that meet creative requirements for both Dazed’s internal stakeholders and external clients on a daily basis.
Duties, Responsibilities & Deliverables
Prepare digital assets including GIFs and animations, editorial designs and templates, collages and composite imagery, and basic illustrations for Dazed Media’s digital channels
Create assets for social, in-house and commercial video projects, featuring typography, animation, and visual elements
Work to established visual guidelines for Dazed Media’s digital channels and craft assets that have a clear brand aesthetic
Work alongside Dazed Studio team with commercial projects, including developing and artworking graphic identities for partnership and white label campaigns, animation and asset creation, web layout, branding, deck design
Desired Skills & Experience
A strong design portfolio with great typography, layout and animation skills
Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Good working knowledge of Adobe Premiere
A strong design sensibility with the ability to work within established styles and guidelines.
Keen interest for innovation and experimentation leading to creative solutions for commercial projects.
Good technical knowledge including digital specifications for video formats and social platforms
Good understanding of digital design and current trends
Knowledge of email marketing design (MailChimp, Sailthru, Klaviyo) desirable
Great communication skills and able to integrate feedback from multiple sources
A collaborative team player but also able to work independently
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and maintain attention to detail
