We are on an exciting journey to implement an Enterprise Data Platform using cutting-edge cloud-based tools, creating a governed single source of truth for our entire organisation. Our chosen dashboard and analytics tool, Power BI, will be at the heart of this transformation.
We are seeking a visionary Lead Data Visualisation Developer to become the go-to expert on the configuration and capabilities of Power BI within our company. In this pivotal 8-month FTC role, you will collaborate closely with a talented team of PowerBI Modellers and Developers and business teams to design, develop, and maintain impactful Power BI datasets, dashboards and analytics. Key responsibilities:

  • Implement and work within a DataOps framework to ensure robust, high-quality visualisation products.
  • Share thought leadership and best practices on applying Power BI to complex use cases.
  • Develop, support, and troubleshoot dataset and visualisation products.
  • Mentor a team of developers to deliver Power BI products.
  • Collaborate with our Data Modeller and Data Engineering colleagues to ensure the data platform supports visualisation product needs.
  • Ensure products are documented and validated with our Data Governance team and our Data Catalogue.
  • Work with global Power BI and Data teams on international projects and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and Power BI users across the organisation.
What you will bring:
  • Extensive experience with the Power BI platform and DAX coding.
  • Proven track record of delivering Power BI model and reporting solutions for diverse use cases.
  • Experience in mentoring visualisation developers.
  • Experience working with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake or AWS.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • A curiosity for technology and a motivation to stay updated on trends and possibilities in data visualisation and storytelling.
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical, execution, and implementation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer-focused service and collaborate with other technology and business functions.
  • Confidence in liaising with both technical and business-focused stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in testing for data quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate business and user requirements into effective datasets and dashboards.
