This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced and talented Lead Designer, to join our Original & Vintage team and be pivotal in the development of the Womenswear range, maintaining the brand integrity we have in this area to deliver our best brand expression. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months on a maternity cover.
Be a lead member of the Original & Vintage design team, building and creating product led designs that strongly focuses on the targeted consumer
Enhance our brand DNA, by building product direction, strategy and ensuing the consumer needs are always at the forefront
Support Heads of Department and Design Managers to shape the range and deliver the product vision
Translate the strategy for this style choice, into meaningful and clear priorities in collaboration with the Design Managers and Collection Strategy team
Lead the category by identifying new market opportunities to drive sales and profits for this area
Be able to lead with innovative product solutions within this style choice
Have the agility to design multi product categories within womenswear
Have a detailed focus of product creation and development
Have a strong understanding of fabrics both jersey and wovens, wash processes and finish techniques
Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all product features and finishes are executed to a high standard
Design products to achieve the department pricing architecture – Good, Better, Best
Produce creative and innovative designs with clear tech packs to produce ‘right first time’ samples
Manage sampling, ensuring the samples are delivered on time and executed to the Superdry standards and requirements
Collaborate with the team and wider business to drive bigger business outcomes within this style choice
Be responsible for integral dates within the critical path to be managed and met within the team
Be able to present your areas at key meetings
Actively contribute to the development of the sourcing strategy
Work collaboratively with the technical team to ensure fit consistency and blocks are perfected
Lead the relationship with the Legal team
Educated to degree level in Fashion Design, with proven experience in Jersey and Wovens, as a Lead/Senior Designer within a retail/brand or supplier
Highly experienced in a brand role
Able to take ownership of product categories with little or no referral from Design Managers
Self-motivated, a great team player and hugely passionate about Design
Collaborative within Design, Collection Strategy , Sourcing and our Quality and Technical teams
Passionate about design and able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Superdry handwriting, brand DNA and our core/target customer
A good communicator with an enthusiastic and engaging manner
Experienced in presenting with strong influencing capabilities
A solution-focused problem solver, who is able to manage up and down
Adept at working in a fast-paced environment
A team player, always “Playing to Win” and a role model to your peers
Experienced at time/critical path management
Advanced in Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
Ideally experienced in PLM although not essential
