LEAD QA ENGINEER (Retail & Studios Tech) | LONDON
We are in the process of landing the Truly Global Retail (TGR) programme, a huge technology transformation initiative to revolutionise our buying and merchandising capabilities which will allow ASOS to offer the most exciting, relevant product choice for our 20-something customers all around the world.
Landing TGR is the start of our journey, not the end. So we are looking for an amazing Lead QA Engineer to help get TGR over the line in the short term but remain focussed on medium to long term goals. By being passionate about testing and quality you will drive, evolve, maintain and improve our standards to build out great teams and test automation capability enabling the delivery of great new solutions and initiatives across the area to drive our business forward.
The role is initially about driving testing across our Retail Planning teams and helping teams deliver a high level of quality software. It's about helping the QAs in the team develop and leading by example, showing an appreciation of the bigger picture and helping to grow and advance the testing competencies of the team. It is expected that in time the scope will broaden out to other areas of Retail & Studios technology.

Provide technology leadership to the development teams
Advise the teams with regards to development standards, frameworks and guidance to maintain consistency throughout the software development lifecycle
Provide technical guidance to teams around the test strategies for both manual and automated tests
Lead and mentor QAs within the teams
Identify problems and issues and be able to implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
Work with key stakeholders within ASOS to create and drive best practices
You've worked in an agile environment
You've got experience of coaching, mentoring and leadership
You have a good understanding of how to best design automated testing across the application layers
You've worked with complex systems within a large-scale IT programme preferably for retail applications as we'd ideally like to have someone with a core understanding of retail process
You have experience with non-functional testing such as performance, security and accessibility
You understand how to use tools to aid you in your testing
WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU NEED?
You have automation experience throughout the stack
You have experience shell scripting
You have experience with ETL implementation
You have worked in an environment with CI/CD and are able to identify what good practices are and have implemented them where appropriate
You have excellent communication skills and can communicate risks at the appropriate level to different stakeholders
Pragmatic approach to evaluating the need for testing and knowing when to stop
Advocacy for responsible risk taking, testability and the testing role
Not essential but we'd also like to see:
Experience testing retail planning systems
Experience testing Oracle ADF applications
Experience testing Oracle RPAS applications
Experience with C#
Experience with enterprise integration technologies (e.g. Mulesoft or similar)
