The Role

To support the team in managing key requirements for brand intake & despatch whilst resolving multiple queries and ensuring smooth day to day running of the dept.

Day to Day

  • Understand the Logistics function
  • Work with the Logistics Analyst & Manager on the dept to support and understand their areas
  • Develop an understanding of the processes involved in the function, how Buying & Merchandising interacts with our dept and how the dept interacts with both the DC and external partners
  • Intake & Delivery Management
  • Planning intake in line with targets and contributing to the weekly revised short term forecast
  • Monitoring and analysing weekly forecast accuracy
  • Container management and negotiation with other Brands
  • Ensure DC is able to work with the stock booked in and Brand intake is maximised – out of tolerances, packing list queries, missing carton queries, failed deliveries, intake carryover
  • Communicating necessary changes to team/supplier
  • Controlling intake and liaising with relevant functions to ensure deliveries match orders
  • Ensure digital concessions deliveries are booked when required
  • Supply Base
  • Dealing effectively with arising issues to ensure maximum intake for stock flow to stores
  • Understand supplier delivery standards and help B&M advise the Suppliers
  • Communicating with suppliers and Merchandising/Distribution teams regarding deliveries and any changes to business processes
  • Despatch Management
  • Maintain the dept and brand despatch management. Monitor our pick pots and understand how this effects both Buying & Merchandising and the DC
  • Highlight issues with pick and suggest actions that may need to be taken to increase or reduce or despatch
  • Report on stock levels in the warehouse and stores as a result of both our intake and despatch
  • Look ahead and ensure Brand despatch targets are met
  • React to wholesale levels, work with B&M to manage intake to brand requirements
  • Meet multi-channel requirement (wholesale, franchise, digital) without impacting UK retail
  • Processing
  • Work with the DC, B&M, Tech & Supplier Management to identify and resolve any quality and delivery issues as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Build relationship with and manage stock through external processor
  • Work with Management to establish key priorities
  • Develop best practice for systems use
  • Good working knowledge of AS400, Excel and Achain in order to collate and relay relevant delivery & performance information
  • Understanding of AS400 system, and the responsibility of Suppliers/ fwders and the DC in what they must maintain
  • Administration
  • Support the team with reports and analysis to enable them to provide information and analysis to the Depts, DC, Suppliers & Management
  • Liaising with other Brands, departments and functions to resolve queries and circulate information as appropriate
  • Stock Movement
  • Allocating HO samples for various press/ marketing events and fit days. Maintain sample log

Must Haves

  • Degree – desirable, but not essential, preferably business, numerical
  • Work experience - ideally within fashion retail or office environment
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
