Guildhall School of Music & Drama is a vibrant, international community of young musicians, actors and production artists in the heart of the City of London. We produce outstanding graduates whose talents light up stages and concert platforms throughout the world. As well as providing professional training at junior, undergraduate and postgraduate level, the School has a wide-ranging programme of public performances, encompassing concerts, recitals, plays, operas and musicals open to the general public.
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager (Learning) to join the Advancement division. This new post will be responsible for developing and implementing creative marketing campaigns to promote the School’s offer for young people under the age of 18 and for adult learners – Junior Guildhall, Centre for Young Musicians, Music Education Islington, Creative Learning, short courses and summer schools. The role will provide expertise to the Heads of each centre/area on promoting their offer at a local level to teachers, parents, young people and adult learners as applicable, whilst leading on promoting the School’s informal learning offer more holistically at a national level.
The post holder should have significant experience of creating and delivering innovative marketing campaigns in an education or arts environment, with the ability to manage a brand effectively. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is a detailed understanding of the needs and expectations of parents, teachers, young people, adult learners and hobbyists interested in the performing arts, and of the music and drama education sector.
This role will require occasional travel across the UK and occasional Saturday working, for which time off in lieu will be given.
Closing date for applications is Monday 13 July 2020 at 12 noon.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing Monday 20 July 2020.
Please note that late applications will not be accepted.
The City of London Corporation is committed to Equal Opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
