The A Side: A Day in The Life
Working with world renowned artists including Ludovico Einaudi and Max Richter alongside internationally ground-breaking young artists such as Erland Cooper, Jean-Michel Blais and various Soundtrack releases is all in a day’s work at Decca Records. Home to icons of classical, jazz, country, Americana and more, Decca Records - synonymous with 60s rock’n’roll - has been defining music of all genres since 1929.
We are an exciting and vibrant label at Decca with a team who are passionate about delivering outstanding campaigns of all genres to a broad demographic of music lovers.
Our ideal candidate will have a passion to deliver the diverse music and artists on our roster to the broadest audiences with creativity and a holistic vision. We are looking for someone with a desire to excel in their role and show an inexhaustible energy for the artists they are responsible for.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Operational

  • To establish, maintain and develop overall artist timelines for all aspects of their businesses. New albums, catalogue albums, streaming initiatives, digital marketing and audience acquisition campaigns etc
  • Produce innovative content marketing campaigns
  • Offer strong, cohesive briefs to creative agencies and then select the best treatment to meet the needs of the campaign.
  • Be responsible for all content creation related to your artists.
  • Oversee all market research activity, on and off-line, liaising closely with the Universal Music Insight division.
  • Embrace new technologies and their benefits – commercial and creative – for the growth of the unit and the business.
  • Keep the wider label aware and energised by your work
  • Manage relevant artist showcases and events
  • Operate within agreed budgets for marketing plans and keeping accurate records of expenditure and planned expenditure.
Be Collaborative
  • Work with the Digital and Streaming teams to devise cohesive campaigns across all platforms.
  • Liaise with the A&R Managers and producers with regards to master delivery, mixes, samplers, label copy, music samples and technical issues relevant to the initiation and marketing of a product.
  • Work closely with the wider label – A&R/Digital/Audience/Press/Promotions/Sales etc. to ensure broad input into your artists from the skills within the Decca and wider Universal team
  • Liaise regularly with artists and their management.
Be Financial
  • Have complete awareness of marketing costs, budgeting and the commercial context of any given campaign.
Person Specification
Necessary
  • Proven experience of successfully managing a wide range of artists in the modern classical genre / neoclassical space.
  • Proven knowledge of charts, trends and artists.
  • Proven capability to work autonomously, demonstrating the ability to make decisions.
  • Drive and ability to push campaigns through to completion.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Proven ability to contribute to innovative, creative and commercially successful marketing strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building and relationship-management skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Capacity to represent the company across inter-disciplinary groups.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience with photo and video shoots, including managing budgets, briefs and contracts.
  • Experience of working with and guiding external creative and media buying agencies.
