BBC Studios is a global creative powerhouse for the development, production and distribution of bold, British, content. We produce over 2,500 hours of content per year, operate in 22 markets globally and generate revenue of £1.4bn, returning around £200m profit to BBC public Service each year. In the UK, BBC Studios enables audiences to enjoy their favourite BBC programmes and brands outside the licence fee-funded window on alternative platforms, through a range of partnerships, and in multiple formats, from products and magazines to events and experiences.
Due to changes within the team, we are seeking a Marketing Manager to join the Global Distribution Marketing team. Global Distribution encompasses Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, and is tasked with taking British content to the world. This is achieved through creative partnerships with local indies and broadcasters to create local content, affiliate channels deals to introduce BBC Brit, BBC Earth, BBC First and CBeebies to international audiences and finished programme sales to show fantastic content like Planet Earth II and Doctor Who to the world.
The Marketing Manager works closely with the Head of Marketing, will implement and execute the marketing strategy in the Western European region for BBC Brit, Earth and First channels and BBC Studios content. They will support the Branded Services and Sales teams to support the delivery of business KPI's via impactful and effective marketing plans.
Role Responsibility Contribute to the annual strategy for the brands portfolio and TV sales activities led by the Head of Marketing. In addition, managing long term marketing roadmaps to deliver performance targets.
Implement the annual marketing plan in line with business objectives to deliver ratings, affiliate and sales targets. Work with the local media and creative agencies to execute marketing campaigns in the market to support channel performance & ad sales KPI's
Ensure brands are appropriately managed through the key stages of launch, growth, maturity and decline. Simultaneously managing tight budget controls and the marketing spend approvals process.
Ensure audience research is effectively utilised to properly inform marketing campaign decisions and highlight future opportunities and weaknesses across the channels, reacting decisively to declining performance in a considered and strategic manner.
Directly manage a Marketing Executive to deliver performance and business KPI's across the portfolio and by individual channel brands as well as TV sales activities.

As an experienced Marketing Manager, you'll have a background of working with powerful brand properties and the ability to balance commercial interests and consumer requirements, delivering effective on-air campaigns and promotion production. You possess a creative flair with a meticulous attention to detail and will consistently deliver against objectives, with a strategic edge that applauds a 'best in class' result. Passionate about people management, you'll demonstrate a passion for clear, effective communication and have an engaging and collaborative style.
You will demonstrate a proven ability to operate independently and work collaboratively with a larger team. Accomplished in managing challenging deadlines, you juggle priorities effectively and will be skilled at reviewing marketing effectiveness, adapting strategy accordingly. You'll have experience and understanding of the marketing strategic framework, in addition to delivering projects to budget, utilising your superior project management skills. Knowledge and experience of Pay TV Marketing Strategy and implementation would be advantageous, in addition working knowledge of partnering with 3rd party agencies.
