The Motion Design Director is required to support the growing Design capability within the Creative & Experience function by facilitating, designing and producing motion graphics work that meets and exceeds expectations and strategic objectives.
At Director level, you will respond to commercial opportunities and work alongside others to develop and implement workflow and process optimization that will benefit the entire global team, you will likely already have experience in leading initiatives.
You will steer, mentor and guide other Motion Designers, working with Learning and Development teams to ensure that global standards are met and processes are aligned and to ensure that the quality of our work is of the highest industry standards, whilst enabling us to deliver within varying client budgets. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to accurately scope and deliver projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong video background, with an exceptional understanding of storytelling techniques, story arcs, pace and other narrative based formats.

Design and produce motion graphics work that meets and exceeds expectations and strategic objectives.
Develop and produce storyboards and creative treatments, pitch work and concepts (where necessary).
Evangelise motion and animation solutions to the business, being a strong role model and point of contact for other Motion Design professionals at Jellyfish.
Act as a brand guardian on behalf of our clients, fully grasping brand guidelines.
Manage own time and multiple projects simultaneously.
Liaise and communicate clearly with other stakeholders, Jellyfish side and client side.
Ensure that projects are delivered on brief, on time and on budget.
Work with (and part of) the wider team including in-house staff and external freelancers and contractors.
Manage and mentor others where relevant.
Advise on resourcing needs.
Supervise on location with shoots (where necessary).
Experience in a wide variety of work across multiple channels.
An ability to work creatively within brand guidelines.
Experience as a motion graphics professional within an agency, creative studio or broadcast/commercial.
Experience with VFX techniques to integrate motion graphics, animation and live-action footage.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
Knowledge of, and the ability to advise on, software, plug-ins and hardware required to be able to work effectively and keep ahead of market trends.
An understanding of video delivery formats and distribution methods.
Experience of working to a range of budgets and adapting proposed solutions to fit.
A proven, in-depth understanding of the production process.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
A keen personal interest in technology and market trends.
Relevant degree (not essential)
Experience as an editor.
Illustration skills (traditional or digital)
Knowledge of 3D software animation software e.g. Cinema 4D (or similar) would also be advantageous.
A general knowledge of digital marketing and capabilities.
