The Modern House is looking for a dynamic individual to oversee the smooth running of our headquarters and provide personal assistance to the company’s two Founders. The role will combine the management of our office and studio, ensuring that staff and visitors alike are given the best possible experience, and implementing an engaging cultural programme for employees.

In addition, you will act as the first point of contact for the Founders, dealing with correspondence and phone calls, managing diaries, organising meetings and appointments, arranging travel, transport and accommodation, and assisting with any special projects.

This is a role with plenty of variety and will suit someone who is comfortable with responsibility while also being unafraid to get their hands dirty. You will need the ability to work well as part of a team, but also independently. You will also pride yourself on your integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key objectives & responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Acting as a PA to the two company Founders and responding to their individual requirements and working styles
  • Cultivating the happiness and healthiness of our workforce with a well-run, well-equipped and culturally relevant office
  • Acting with the upmost discretion and conducting yourself with honesty and integrity
  • Creating cost efficiencies by building relationships with service providers
  • Overseeing health and safety, fire regulations, cleaning, insurance, security and maintenance
  • Overseeing the IT and AV systems
  • Maintaining studio supplies
  • Welcoming visitors and managing the company diary
  • Assisting the marketing team with implementing events and brand collaborations, including furniture and installation, invitations and guest-lists, food and drink, and AV
  • Setting up internal events such as yoga classes, film screenings and team lunches
  • Innovating new ideas aimed at optimising employee engagement

The successful candidate will be:

  • Conscientious and rigorously organised in everything they do
  • A good communicator, and adept at organising others
  • Someone who loves supporting a team
  • An individual who is excited by the prospect of making our office the best possible environment to work in
  • Comfortable carrying out both low-level and high-level tasks
  • Interested in architecture, design and interiors, with a sound aesthetic judgement
  • An intelligent, articulate and well-presented representative of The Modern House

The role will suit someone early in their career who is looking to be part of a dynamic workforce and grow their experience.
