The Payroll Officer is responsible for supporting the payroll processes for the European markets, specifically but not limited to the DACHI region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy).
Key tasks include preparing and validating regular payroll data, holiday and benefit calculation and other payroll related payments such as bonuses, commission. Maintaining accurate employee data within the payroll systems. Supporting the European Payroll Team with projects.
This is a full-time, permanent position start date ASAP.
This role will be based at our Cologne or London Head Office.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Prepare holiday accrual and other benefit calculations on a monthly basis
Developing and maintaining detailed knowledge and understanding of the statutory processes and legislative deadlines across region
Owning or contributing to specific process improvements /or enhancements by creating best practices for improved efficiencies
Prepare the calculation and payment of bonuses and other compensation elements
Partnership and continuous communication with HR and People Services to ensure all payroll related activities are executed accordingly
Provide assistance to the Payroll Manager and wider Payroll Team with all EU projects - payroll provider change management, new CBA application, system maintenance, etc.
Updating and continued maintenance of payroll records
Administration of all unemployment agency related documents.
Ad-Hoc Government initiatives [Covid-19 related reporting]
Benefit Administration of the Health Insurance
Manage all payroll related postal information
Administration of Aesop’s Sickness and Absence reporting
Respond to all people queries via our Zendesk ticketing system in a timely manner
Maintain a well organized and timely filing processes for payroll records and other related documentation Contribute to the maintenance of the HRIS and its ongoing execution and performance
General assistance with project work and administrative tasks, as required
To be successful, you will have:
A minimum of 12 months payroll experience across the DACHI region
Intermediate to advanced excel skills
The ability to tackle all tasks with an analytical and methodical approach
Experience with Outsourced Payroll Providers, Cloudpay would be a distinct advantage
Strong knowledge of local Labour laws in region relating to Time & Attendance
Outstanding communicator and a solution focused problem solver
An exceptional eye for detail as well as a proactive and methodical approach to work
Ability to adapt to change and to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
Professional proficiency in German & English is a must, French and/or Italian speaker will be an advantage
