The Photographers are a team of individuals passionate about photography and fashion, with a solid understanding of current trends and how they relate to the ASOS customer. As the Photographer Team Leader you will report into the Studio Creative Manager as part of the ASOS Studios department. Your main area of focus will be to fully support and lead the Photography team with day-to-day duties and studio projects including creative initiatives and team development. The role requires a focused, driven, hardworking individual. You must be able to remain calm and professional in pressured situations while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude. This role demands a team player who is eager to learn and develop and can grasp new information quickly. You will also be flexible and have the ability to think outside of the box and bring new ideas to the team.

What you'll be doing...

  • Reporting directly into the Studio Creative Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the photography team and Photography Admin Assistant
  • Responsible for overseeing the quality and consistency of all imagery produced by the model studio team
  • Direct reporting line to a team of Photographers and a Photography Admin Assistant
  • The successful delivery of projects set by the Studio Creative Manger that support the department strategy
  • Support the Studio Creative Manager and Model Photography Lead by managing the end to end process of test shoots, equipment trials and process reviews
  • Sourcing, interviewing and induction of new photographers
  • Work closely with the Model Photography Lead to regularly assess photography methods and equipment
  • Possess/develop a strong technical knowledge with regards to Photography and Capture One and translate to team members
  • Working closely with the Model Photography Lead and Senior Photographers ensure all photography guides are maintained and updated, communicate changes to fulltime and freelance teams
  • Managing the model photography budget in line with the company goal of efficient retailing
  • Oversee the weekly schedule of the photography team
  • Point of contact for daily trouble shooting in the photography team
  • Ensuring direction from Studio Creative Manager is being executed day to day
  • Manage weekly performance logs, review patterns and implement necessary changes
  • Ensure the team are always following correct protocol and processes ensuring quality and highest standard of work throughout
  • Regular Quality Control spot checks to ensure product imagery is of the highest standard, flag any issues and resolve
  • Forming strong relationships with internal and external departments
  • Consistently review competition to ensure ASOS model imagery is the best in the industry
  • Support Studio Creative Manager to deliver department competitor reviews on behalf of the photography team
  • Identify areas for category/product reviews. Review and research ideas from competition and present findings to suggest new approaches
  • Work closely with Model Photography Lead to ensure efficient running of the Model
  • Studios
  • Fully support Studio Management on any ad hoc projects, creative briefs for the department and wider business. Work with the team to ensure the best quality of delivery
  • Consistently think outside the box with all processes and projects showing initiative and innovation

  • Ensuring the team are using the most efficient processes to maintain the smooth running of the department

Skills and experience you will need:

  • Working within a busy studio environment
  • Identifying workflow issues and improving processes
  • Understanding and experience of Studio Photography advantageous
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Ensuring the smooth day to day running of a Studio
  • Previous fashion e-commerce retail experience desirable
