Location: The Factory Studios, Manchester
Role Type: 1 year Fixed Term Contract

Summary: As Photography Studio Manager you’ll oversee the running of the Ecommerce photography for one of our main clients. Shooting within our studios you will manage both the teams and the day to day running of the shoots.

What you need:
  • A genuine passion for Ecommerce photography production & the photography industry.
  • Relevant experience leading and guiding an Ecommerce photography team within a busy studio.
  • Experience producing both model and still life photoshoots.
  • Strong leader and team player, able to guide, lead and inspire others.
  • Previous management experience and outstanding communications skills.
  • Process driven with experience of working to schedules and an ability to plan and prioritise both your work and the work of the team.
  • Creative with the ability to formulate ideas quickly and effectively.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of photography production, lighting, camera & power requirements.
  • Keen to listen to new ideas and have an open mind about change.
  • Able to think quickly and problem solve day to day remaining calm under pressure.
  • Outstanding organisation and administration skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of the client’s stakeholders.
  • Use initiative and be proactive in everything you do.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the studio team; inspiring, leading and developing this team. Leading a team of both freelancers and full-time employees.
  • Managing the administrative operations of the studio, including the product flow in the studio, resourcing and client communications.
  • Work closely with the client and creative teams to ensure schedules are set and imagery is delivered on time.
  • Work closely with the Sample Manager to manage workflow through into the studio.
  • Work closely with the Lead Retoucher to oversee all postproduction to ensure imagery is retouched on schedule and following client feedback.
  • Ensure the team are adhering to overall brand direction across all product areas and manage all client feedback.
  • Manage the Photography team to maintain setting up of sets, including studio lighting and all photography equipment. Overseeing the maintenance of all photography and studio equipment.
  • Understanding of lighting requirements and equipment to produce both model and still life photography.
  • Work alongside our Operations team to establish systems and processes, improve efficiency and optimise performance.
  • Have experience in designing and setting up new workflows for ecommerce photography including model and still life to improve service delivery and productivity.
  • Provide a seamless support service to all photo studios, supporting our Photographers, Art Directors & and Stylists to ensure they are delivering each brief with exacting efficiency.
  • Provide timely and effective communication on progress or issues to the team, find solutions and be a constant source of clear advice and problem solving.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team to consistently deliver the highest standards of service required by the studios.
  • Support in the recruitment of freelance and full-time staff.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, as well as holding regular one to ones to discuss feedback and goals with the team.
  • As a key point of contact, between the wider business and the ecommerce studio, work closely with all teams building collaborative relationships.
  • Regularly liaise with the client to understand photography requirements.
  • Continually look to improve quality, processes, capabilities, and efficiencies.
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time relevant to your role.
