Description

PR at Iris

It’s in our DNA to try new things and we’ve never subscribed to the traditional view of PR.
We’re passionate about driving earned media and engaging influencer content. We create news that’s unexpected and push boundaries to deliver forward-thinking campaigns that excite our clients and deliver business/game-changing/stand-out results that make a difference.

In the last two years, we created the first ever t-shirt made from recycled plastic bottles for BRITA, developed the world’s first livestream, 360 music event for Samsung – its most successful content campaign EVER - and produced a manifesto that redefined how the brand should position itself to a premium, design-loving audience.

We’ve bottled the scents of Britain’s best-loved coastal destinations to create Haven’s very first fragrance diffuser range, highjacked Snapchat to enable adidas fans to design their own collection for its NEO label, created a couture dress from left over car parts to highlight BMW’s sustainability creds, and won a long list of awards that highlight our breadth – including the inaugural Best Influencer Campaign at PR Week, Best Music and Brand Partnership at Music Week and Best Content Creation at the Sabres.

We’ve recently had a number of new account wins including Vodafone, White Claw and Barclays (consumer / brand) so we are looking for some ambitious & enterprising recruits to join our team.

Opportunity knocks

  • We are looking for a solid AD to play a lead role predominantly working on Vodafone on their consumer and sustainability areas of business. You’ll also work on cinch and BRITA.
  • You will work closely with the Associate Directors on creative and strategy development and will be a key client contact and lead the team to implement creative PR campaigns that deliver stand-out results
  • On Vodafone you will also be responsible for running the press office / campaigns and manage the team to deliver day in, day out coverage for the client
  • You’ll work with the senior team to unlock additional briefs within your client portfolio by looking for new opportunities and providing sound counsel
  • Creativity is at the heart of what we do, so the right person will be someone who has a passion for award-winning work and a track record of delivering brave ideas and campaigns

How you’d spend your day

  • You’ll be a lynchpin in your team, owning client relationships, mentoring juniors and working closely with the senior team as a trusted PR practitioner who understands the market, their clients and what makes truly good PR
  • Client Management: you’ll be the go-to person for your clients, someone they trust and seek consultancy from
  • Media relations: whether on the phone, by email, or face to face, your job will involve liaising with media and influencers and developing your existing contacts where relevant. This will also include helping to develop the media skills of your junior team
  • Influencer marketing: using your experience and knowledge to deliver first-class influencer campaigns with purpose and relevance
  • Planning & creative ideation: receiving briefs from clients and interrogating these, challenging where necessary and working with the senior team to bring these to life through bold creative ideas
  • New Biz: in particular seeking out opportunities to grow existing clients. As an AD, you will also play a role in new business pitches – from writing responses to presenting

What we’re looking for:

  • The right candidate will have existing experience in the role and ideally have worked with consumer tech and broader consumer clients at AD level. Some experience with sustainability, food and drink is also valuable, but not essential
  • We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about delivering media coverage that drives real results for their clients’ businesses
  • A creatively aware candidate with a keen interest in cultural events and consumer trends that may influence and shape insights and campaigns – and can share them with the team and clients in a way which adds value to their campaigns
  • An enthusiastic team player who can lead and motivate the team, help juniors develop their careers and teach them new skills
  • An ambitious person who wants to develop their career and prove themselves
  • A multi-tasker who can juggle work loads whilst maintaining excellent time and resource management – both individually and within their teams
  • Someone with a high standard of work and a keen eye for detail in all written documents
