Closing Date: 7th November 2020 Video advertising is a complex, multi-sided market with many technologies at play within the industry. The industry is rapidly growing and evolving as viewers are shifting from traditional TV viewing to OTT and publishers are increasingly adding video content to their online experiences. Amazon’s video advertising program is a rising competitor in this industry. Amazon’s service has differentiated assets in our customer & audience insights, exclusive video content, and associated inventory that position us well as an end to end service for advertisers and agencies. We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented individuals to help launch our offering into new market segments. As a Principal Product Manager for International Expansion, your job will be defining requirements and building roadmaps in order to launch our video advertising service in new countries. You will be our single threaded leader for international expansion across the world. You will be the voice of the customer and will help ship a product that customers love. For each new locale you will work to define, build and execute the launch of our service taking into account the unique needs of the locale. This role is inherently cross-functional with a high degree of ambiguity - you will work closely with engineering, design, sales, operations, finance, and executive teams. You will be a highly visible leader that will own the communication, coordination, and execution of key country launches. You will partner in close coordination with publishers including our owned and operated properties (e.g. IMDb TV). A successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent communication and cross-functional management. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy - with a passion for advertising. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded international background as well as a history of leading complex, ambiguous projects end-to-end. Key Responsibilities:
  • Go to market: Manage and execute go-to-market plans for new launches and features across multiple large partner teams.
  • Strategy and Direction: Continually assess the needs of the customers, sales, operations, emerging market trends and competitive opportunities in defining and evolving each locales needs.
  • Roadmap Planning: Coordinate a cross-functional team for prioritizing and planning the roadmap and major product releases. Use high judgement to make critical trade-offs, balancing both business requirements and technological trade-offs. Core Responsibilities:
  • Author and present documents to leadership on overarching country/region launch strategies for video advertising
  • Gather business and sales expansion requirements and priorities for specific regions including channel dependencies (e.g., direct, reseller) and marketing entities or sellers of record (e.g., local sales office)
  • Develop a roadmap for future international expansion
  • Participate in country or region specific working groups and represent the voice of the advertiser
  • Work closely with engineering teams and program management to deliver products. Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance and operational support load.
  • Organize local teams to coordinate go to market for country launches and remove blockers for successful sales in a country
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
  • Develop and monitor the business metrics of the expansion efforts
  • Write 1, 4 and 6 page documents communicating your plans to internal stakeholders from across and at all levels within Amazon. This includes monthly and quarterly business reviews and as lead author for operating plans. Impact and Career Growth:

  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience in data modelling using SQL.
  • Experience in data analysis using Tableau.
  • Experience in web development using HTML, Java & Pearl.
  • Proven experience with Go To Market (GTM) strategies.
  • Proven Experience using customer insights to drive market strategies.
  • A big thinker who can look outside the box for solutions, but can probe and consider all the facts and details, while still staying aligned with the long term plans and goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • MBA or related postgraduate degree.
