It’s an exciting time for Hello! as we look to massively expand our digital offering with video becoming a core focus for the group for 2019 and beyond. Our digital department is expanding and we are therefore looking for a talented self-shooter who has experience of shooting with high profile talent, celebrities and equally knows how to craft a stand-out narrative.
You’ll know first-hand how to shoot because it’s your passion, but you can equally edit it and work with someone to craft a narrative which pulls on the right emotions. You’re adept at interpreting briefs into stand-out and shareable content across all of our platforms. Working directly with our head of channels, you’ll hit the ground running and be responsible for taking a brief and creating high production value content whilst equally producing stand-out campaigns for our advertisers. You’ve ideally had some experience with long-form but short-form will be the focus for now.
Equally, you’ll have strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills and have a strong ability to produce multiple projects and direct and/or delegate to freelancer talent when the need arises. You’ll also be very reactive and capable and be able to switch your mindset at the drop of a hat for any breaking news.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Shoot and produce for a wide range of videos and formats across our social platforms.
  • Shoot interviews and pieces to camera either by yourself or with trusted crew.
  • Be pro-active in suggesting great originated content to accompany our news articles and social media and shoot them when necessary,
  • Work closely and direct our in-house editor when required.
  • You’ll foster a team approach and be able to take on additional edit work as and when required.
  • Work with the head of digital and head of channels to identify opportunities for originated creation both on location and in a studio environment.
  • Edit your own material when required.
  • Have an undersensing of motion graphics and can direct designers. Ideally, you’ll also possess basic after effects knowledge.
  • Suggest music and ways to up the quality on any edits we produce.
  • Have a grasp and a thorough understanding of audio mixing.
  • Work with freelance talent and post-houses when need arises.
  • Be able to own a budget for small scale shoots when required.
  • Be the owner of all shot material and ensure all finalised video assets are stored correctly within our servers with the correct metadata.
  • Get involved in the creative process, contribute ideas and creative solutions where relevant and be across industry trends.
  • Keep up-to-date with creative innovations and ensure you are following the best procedure and workflow.
  • Direct and work with high-profile talent to create engaging content.
  • Be the go-to for all our originally shot content.
  • Aware of captioning and subtitling workflows.
  • Digital and SEO savvy.
  • This is news so you will be asked to work the odd weekend and evening when required.

Your experience:
  • You have relevant experience working in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • You’re adept using Adobe Creative Cloud apps but an expert in Premiere Pro and you have some After Effects knowledge.
  • You know DSLR shooting inside and out, plus you have knowledge of digital shoot workflows.
  • Knowledge of the latest digital workflows including digital media including codecs, frame rates, image types and resolutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media and digital video platforms.
  • You follow workflow guidelines and naming conventions and can suggest better ways of using workflow.
  • Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for music, images and footage.
  • You have an understanding of basic color correction using Premiere Pro.
  • You must be able to understand the big picture as well as perform some of the basic tasks.
  • You've worked in a fast turnaround environment be that in a publisher or agency.
