An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Virgin Media’s Data Strategy, Architecture and Support team, working within a growing Business Intelligence function.
As a Senior BI Analyst you will have a healthy mix of business and hands-on work with an opportunity to build a strong understanding of our current platforms as well as play a key role in defining the future landscape.
To succeed you will have demonstrable experience of delivering business intelligence across multiple stakeholder groups, improving engagement with data and increasing its application in strategic business decision making
Build a strong understanding of OBIEE
Gain a solid understanding of business usage and areas for
Problem solving mind-set; work with the business and BI support function to address issues that
Inquisitive - Work with architecture and business teams to identify new technologies and processes to meet growing business demand to be agille
Drive business adoption of platform
Governance – Drive best practice of BI platforms working with business and support functions to setup an effective delivery pipeline governance
Provide SME expertise on existing platforms in BI development pipeline
Work closely with onsite & offshore partners vendors involved in development and support of BI platforms
Design, develop and maintain BI solutions that help critical decision making and support / monitor business performance
Participate in the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches.
Take ownership of Insight within the Agile working process by ensuring all tickets capture technical and tracking requirements.
Strong working knowledge of SQL and BI Platforms like OBIEE
Experience in Cloud native BI tools (PowerBI, Google Cloud BI tools) and around migration towards cloud
In-depth understanding of database management systems and data modelling techniques
Experience in a similar analytics role, with a track record delivering actionable insight to drive commercial performance
Good attention to detail, proficient problem solving and fact-finding skills
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Transform and visualise data into actionable insight that can be understood by key stakeholders.
Familiar with a broad range of analytical approaches and the application in a business context.
Ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders effectively in order to drive data-driven decisions.
Innovative thinking - ability to think around an issue and solve problems.
