An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Burtons team to work on the Tailoring and Suits department. You will be working in conjunction with the Merchandiser, Designer and Technologist to develop a commercial and credible range for the Burton customer.
Day to Day
Meet the needs of the Burton customer, creating a balanced, innovative range, looking at price point, quality and standards.
Build a broad understanding of the Burton customer profile, ensuring that the range is the best on the high street for the mainstream man.
Work effectively with the Merchandiser to drive department sales and profit; focussing on meeting customer needs, whilst planning and developing for the future
Build and maintain key relationships with the supply base in order to achieve maximum flexibility and reliability
Work with the Design team to develop product in line with current trends and the Burton customer
Responsible for implementing the product strategies and financial plans for the department reflecting the Brand strategy and translating this into action across all channels and third party partnerships.
Develop a sourcing and supplier strategy including negotiating price, delivery and payment terms.
You will be skilled at developing and maintaining strong working relationships with external third parties/suppliers.
Maintain excellent supplier relationships, liaising with them to drive product development and new product ideas, and share trading information.
Strong fashion eye and passion for Menswear
Proactive in seeking out new opportunities and reacting quickly to trends
In-depth knowledge of the market/competition and an ability to gather and use relevant internal and external information to make commercial decisions
Strong team player and man manager - able to gain trust, respect and confidence quickly and effectively
The proven ability to negotiate and drive performance of external as well as internal teams
Enthusiasm, energy and determination to achieve results.
Excellent interpersonal skills – being able to quickly establish effective relationships at all levels (internal and external) with gravitas and strength.
Can perform under pressure and operate in a fast past environment.
Strong and convincing presentation skills – able to get ideas across quickly and effectively and gain relevant buy-in and support.
Working within budget guidelines.
Excellent creative flair with the ability to predict forthcoming moods, trends, themes and can combines a creative, innovative approach with commercial ideas
