Do you spend more time with your headphones on than off? Are you addicted to listening to podcasts and radio?
Are you keen to use your commissioning experience in audio – the fastest growing media category and market in publishing?
If yes, we’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic content curator to take responsibility for commissioning audio publications for our BBC Audio list.
Penguin Random House is proud to partner with the BBC to publish the very best spoken word from both current broadcasting and the BBC archives. Our eclectic list includes bestsellers such as Cabin Pressure, dramatisations of the novels of Neil Gaiman and John le Carré, oral histories, smart thinking and contemporary comedy from Sara Pascoe and The Pin.
You’ll bring passion for audio and a commercial mindset to assessing what will make a successful transition from radio to audiobook and curating new offerings for a commercial audience.
You will work closely with BBC Studios and Radio 4 commissioners, as well as sales and marketing colleagues at Penguin Random House to publish effectively for the fast-moving audio market.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must, as are strong attention to detail and an ability to respond positively to a busy workload and multiple deadlines.
This is a fixed term contract covering a maternity leave. We’re open to flexible working arrangements; please include any preferred details in your cover letter.
If this sounds like you, please send a CV and cover letter by 24th July.
