Role Outline - Snr Comms Lead Ogilvy UK
This role has three core principles:
  • Partnership with New Business to deliver on growth
  • Delivery of internal engagement
  • Delivery of external comms: building positive reputation, enhancing reputation of senior spokespeople within the industry and in business press
Your Role at Ogilvy
Overall strategy
Devise, implement, communicate Ogilvy UK's Comms strategy both internally and externally
 
  • Internal Engagement (in report to Head of New Business & Marketing / dotted line to Chief People Officer)
  • With Comms team support
  • In partnership with UK Talent Management Team
  • External Engagement (in report to Head of New Business & Marketing with key stakeholder CEO)
  • With Comms team support
  • In partnership with 3 rd party PR Agency
  • In collaboration with Ogilvy HQ (in NYC)
Establishing profiles in the press and industry for key spokespeople and agency profile
Hold C-Suite & Strat board to account on delivery & achievement
  • Agree KPIs and personal accountability for personal profile
  • In partnership driving collaboration with craft / capability teams
  • Delivery of media training, critique and analysis for the continued improvement of Ogilvy UK's communication effectiveness.
Define, connect & manage partnerships, networking and industry appropriate events for C-Suite & Strat Board leadership and participation

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Advise on design, development and production of collateral and insight led communications, to be developed in collaboration with Craft & Capabilities. To include
  • Overseeing local to local campaign planning & delivery
  • Overseeing development & delivery of internal campaigns and initiatives
  • Advise on management with 3 rd party agency in the crafting, management and conversion of key industry audience relationships across
  • Media - Social & Editorial
  • Industry Orgs
 
  • Oversee content generation for OUK's internal & external comms channels, to include:
  • Creation, management and enforcement of Social / Editorial Playbook
  • Quality, type, format of content (reactive & proactive, to include crisis comms mgt)
  • Delivery of agreed Tone of Voice / Brand identity
  • Oversee content generation for additional comms & marketing formats to include;
  • Awards entries
  • Speaker platforms
  • Thought Leadership (with supporting research)
 
 
  • Overall responsibility for the safeguarding of OUK's reputation, including lead for all crisis comms within UK
 
Ogilvy Values
Management
  • Overall responsibility for co-ordination with Ogilvy Global HQ and network partners / WPP across internal & external communication plans and delivery
  • Overall responsibility for the management of Ogilvy UK's Comms budget, creation & cost expenditure
  • Overall leadership and management for Comms team; mentor and coach members of the team.
  • Oversee external 3rd Party PR Agency
