Job Introduction
BBC Studios is a global creative powerhouse for the development, production, and distribution of bold, British content. We produce over 2,500 hours of content per year, have offices in 22 markets globally, including seven production bases in the UK and production bases and partnerships in a further nine countries around the world. The business generates revenue of £1.4bn, returning around £200m profit to BBC Public Service each year. In the UK, BBC Studios enables audiences to enjoy their favourite BBC programmes and brands outside the licence fee-funded window on alternative platforms, through a range of partnerships, and in multiple formats, from products and magazines to events and experiences.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Content Co-ordinator (Creative) to join us here at BBC Studios. The role will have supervisory responsibilities over 4 Content Co-ordinators, ensuring that existing sources of new footage are maintained and new opportunities are realised. You will also oversee Motion Gallery’s Creative collection, including Universal, Archive, and Shot for Stock activities as well as helping to manage content provider 'The Smalls', ensuring that this content is maximising commercial returns.
Role Responsibility
The Senior Content Coordinator will assist Head of Operations and Content in producing and delivering the Content Delivery Plan and will ensure that new clips are delivered to Getty Images in a timely manner, and that commercial targets are met.
You will curate and maintain Motion Gallery’s online creative collections, ensuring they are fit for purpose and are optimised to maximise value.
You will stay abreast of trends within the stock footage industry, regularly sharing information with team members and incorporating them into the team’s selection policies.
You will maintain content cataloguing processes, ensuring quality is maintained and that BBC Motion Gallery clips are returned as frequently as possible by customers searching on gettyimages.com.
You will ensure that consistent and accurate rights information is displayed across all assets, and that Getty Images are given correct information and sales are processed efficiently.
You will keep Getty Images sales teams informed of all new content to increase their knowledge of the BBC archive. You will ingest raw footage for submission to MGBA on Getty website to log and upload all clips to Getty online portal.
You will view raw material and make selections according to defined quality criteria highlighting premium content for sales and marketing team. You will also conduct copyrights checks and maintain full records to ensure footage can be used.
You will help to manage day to day relationships with BBC Archives and BBC production departments to establish and maintain supply of new content.
You will approve licensing of BBC footage, ensuring it is used in context and not in a way that will do any reputational harm to the public service to protect the BBC Brand.
You will finalise the cataloguing of selected clips to required standards, applying rich metadata such as subject and conceptual keywords.
The Ideal Candidate
At BBC Studios, we seek people who are passionate about who we are and what we do.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll have the ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workloads and be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal & external teams and stakeholders.
