Role Responsibility

This is a critical role in delivering extraordinary customer experiences where culture and commerce collide. Part of a cross-departmental function, working across Customer and Creative teams, the jobholder will also interact with many other departments in the business (e.g. Buying and Merchandising, Visual Projects, Retail Operations etc.) and external partners.
The successful candidate will provide essential coordination, working with another Creative Project Manager and under the guidance of the Head of Project Curation, to plan and shape the delivery of brand campaigns, calendar events (Easter, Valentine’s etc.) and other key projects as required.
The role is critical in originating and/or maintaining detailed documentation – including critical paths, budgets, status reports and project packs - for each stage of cross-functional campaigns. The job holder will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and ensure relevant documentation is accurate, useful and up to date. They will be able to provide transparency and clear accountability at all times, and will be required to influence a wide base of stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will be required to present at a Senior level in the business, so confident presentation skills and the ability to bring clarity to multi-layered projects is essential.
Although project management skills are a core requirement, projects may originate from the Creative, Customer or B&M teams, so the jobholder should have an affinity with, and some understanding of, the creative, marketing, fashion and digital worlds.
As Creative Project Manager you will:
  • Understand the Creative Concept brief for campaigns, and develop a deep understanding of the Selfridges brand
  • Build relationships across the business, ensuring effective communication processes are in place with key stakeholders
  • Develop a clear understanding of how the business operates, in order to plan the facilitation of projects in a manner sensitive to its structure and mechanics, with the ability to estimate required timeline and assemble suitable stakeholders
  • With the support of your line manager, Influence project leads to ensure the project is shaped successfully and to brief
  • Create and maintain master critical paths, project status updates and extensive project packs and regularly communicate to key stakeholders as necessary/ requested
  • Coordinate, plan agendas and chair project meetings
  • Produce detailed, succinct notes with action points from project meetings.
  • Present project overviews at various forums across the business, up to Director level
  • Monitor and manage deadlines across multiple teams
  • Monitor project development, looking for gaps in information or planning.
  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring that functions are communicating their latest spend and updating trackers and line manager accordingly.
  • Maintain a clear visibility & transparency on project expenditure

  • Operating with meticulous accuracy and lead by example
  • Communicating confidently, clearly and openly with people using a range of styles and media
  • Producing written work and data that is accurate, clear and well presented
  • Using impeccable organisational skills to facilitate focus, accuracy and quality
  • Communicating matters of logistics and scheduling to all stakeholders clearly, ensuring all areas of remit/responsibility are understood and agreed
  • Intuitive, level-headed and calm
  • Educated to degree level or similar in the arts or marketing (or with comparable experience)
  • At least 2 years experience in facilitating the delivery of multi-channel, brand or creative led projects (or comparable) working with multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels.
  • Experienced working in a creative or brand-based environment with Interest in and understanding of the Creative / Fashion world.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to plan a multi-layered project and provide example documentation
  • Experienced in working in the fashion, retail, creative/ brand agency, media or art world preferred. Digital experience an advantage.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Powerpoint and Word on PC and MAC
