The Global Client Service team is looking for an enthusiastic and bright Digital Manager to service Phillip Morris International, working on brand and products within their growing smoke and tobacco-free portfolio.
As of March 31, 2019, PMI estimates that approximately 7.3 million adult smokers around the world have already stopped smoking and switched to PMI’s heated tobacco product, which is currently available for sale in 51 markets under the IQOS brand.
Our relationship with PMI dates back to 2016 – when they first joined our roster of Clients – and has grown significantly stronger since then, in 2019 we retained their Global Media AOR contract for a further 4 years and expanded our scope across the Dentsu-Aegis Network to cover SEO and Social Community Management.
The Digital Account Manager will be a key interface for day to day digital scope management of the digital media client team (based in Lausanne) and orchestrate deliverables with all relevant stakeholders, ranging from internal global specialist functions to media owners. Gaining the trust and respect of the central client team will therefore be essential - excellent communication skills are paramount as there will be a significant amount of direct client contact.
The Digital Account Manager will need to form a strong relationship with the Carat local network to ensure a smooth working partnership and that the local teams deliver against the central workload whilst also balancing their local commitments. As we are working at a very fast pace, the candidate needs to be efficient with time management and deliver against committed deadlines consistently.
This person will actively participate in central digital campaign strategy and facilitate the sharing of planning guidelines across the network to ensure its implementation. As part of our remit on PMI, this will extend to planning, buying and optimizing centrally activated media plans. Generating actionable consumer insights (using Dentsu Aegis Network proprietary tools) and having a genuine curiosity for innovative media/technology solutions will play a key role as part of this assignment.
Managing the Business: Support the client teams and Digital Director via the delivery of multiple workstreams in order to meet client expectations.
Project Management: Support the delivery of ways of working within the teams, ensuring that projects and reports are accurate and on time
Relationship Management: Aim to establish strong relationships across the DAN network and markets to become a trusted member of the extended client team
Digital Campaign: Support the digital team & regional hubs in planning, delivering best in class campaign. This entitles a combination of research, developing media plans, buying set up, performance monitoring and reporting.
Media Owner Knowledge: Build strong knowledge and relationship with media owners to ensure the right vendors are selected for the purpose of the campaign.
Programmatic and Technical Knowledge: Be familiar with programmatic landscape and its technical implication (DMP, DSP, Data partners…). Fully proficient with Google Campaign Manager and role of ad servers.
Reporting & Insights: Provide frequent reporting material (Excel dashboard, presentation…) to the rest of the digital team but as well Analytics insights from Google Analytics.
Finance: Ensure all bookings are recorded in system in time and reconciled.
Client Knowledge: Learn and maintain a good understanding of the client’s products & services.
Proactive Client Development: Support the team in identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
Managing Client Requirements across The Network: Coordinating DAN markets to respond in a timely and accurate manner to global/central client requests for information.
Best Practice: Source and collate best practice, tools and case studies as appropriate.
Commercial acumen: Responsible for PO process on global projects
Other Important Responsibilities:
Organise partner meetings and workshops, develop agenda, help develop any Carat materials required for meetings.
Generate contact reports and follow up on key action points.
Coordinate and manage the Content amplification media campaigns [media plans, publisher liaisons, booking and billing, internal briefing for trafficking, weekly reporting, post campaign analysis]. Current briefs are for APAC, USA, EMEA…
Coordinate and manage pilot partnerships [media plans, publisher liaisons, booking and billing, internal briefing for trafficking, weekly reporting, post campaign analysis. This will likely require a lot of initial input to setup and agree all the fundamental components like content frequency and messaging.
The DM role will allow the Digital Director to prioritise strategic development of the account: cohesive publisher activation roadmap, knowledge sharing workshops, liaison with local Carat markets (publisher best practice and activation), future opportunities roadmap.
Overall key personal qualities:
Passion for the Digital economy.
Three or more years’ media agency experience required.
Experience of international Account Management is essential.
Digital planning and buying experience required. Programmatic Experience is a plus.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Strong Knowledge of Google Campaign Manager and Goole Analytics. Google Data Studio is a strong plus.
Clear understanding of the programmatic ecosystem
Numerate and analytical, with good understanding of how to deliver insightful analysis.
Clear understanding of all standard media KPIs, understand how to read a media plan.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
Be a highly organised person. Ability to manage multiple projects. Organised with strong attention to detail.
