Senior Global Communications Manager
Job Description:
We are recruiting a Senior Employee Communications Manager to provide specialist support to the global HR function. The role is responsible for leading, delivering and influencing all HR communication and engagement activities within the global HR function as well as communications about HR to the wider business.
This role is based in London reporting to Global Head of Employee Communications (Communications & Marketing) and a  dual reporting line into the Culture and Engagement team within HR. The role will provide communications counsel and build capability with senior leaders, including the HR Executive to help them to deliver engaging and authentic communications.
A key part of the role will be working collaboratively and in partnership with the Talent, Reward, Inclusion and Engagement leads as well as the HR Effectiveness team to create and deliver effective communications and ensure an aligned and joined up approach to how we communicate and embed our new values,  talent principles, and Employee Value Proposition to our people and future talent .
This senior role both leads and manages internal communications planning and engagement activities during a time of significant and exciting change for the function. Excellent stakeholder management skills are required to coach and support a global team. Familiar with complex transformation programmes, ideally within similar matrix-organised companies, the successful candidate will be comfortable delivering and be at the centre of supporting global cultural change.
Role Responsibility
  • Create a joined-up communications approach, ensuring that the function’s communication strategy consistently supports the business strategy and requirements.
  • Establish a stakeholder engagement framework and manage a programme of activity to engage and drive their support and participation in the Global people agenda.
  • Communicate the successes and achievements of the function to the wider employee audience globally.
  • Enable people-focused change through clear, aligned, timely and compelling communications and engagement activities.
  • Provide targeted strategic and tactical communications support within core programmes as required eg global employee engagement surveys, Learning Community and the annual performance development cycle
  • Provide measurable results to demonstrate campaign and communications effectiveness.
  • Manage internal communications budget relevant to department.
  • Provide strategic counsel and tactical support to leadership to drive effective communications and collaboration.
  • Enable a communications experience focusing on leader-led storytelling, creating connections and fostering a culture of collaboration in support of our Global Employee Communications Strategy.
  • Leverage digital and social environments as a driver for employee engagement and enable open conversations.
  • Deliver rich content in formats that plug into a digital world.
  • Foster a culture of best practice and new approaches to communications to ensure we are leaders in what we do by contributing to channel innovation and offering feedback and ideas.
  • Drive continuous improvement and excellence through monitoring, evaluation and refinement.
  • Contribute to communications toolkits to create robust communications frameworks to drive consistent and best-in-class employee communications.
Who are we looking for?
  • High-level of awareness and knowledge of best-practice communication tools and approaches, including social media.
  • Strong, fast, accurate, relevant and concise editorial skills
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Experienced communications practitioner
  • Expert in crafting multi-channel communications programmes
  • Practical knowledge of communications technologies
  • Communications coaching skills
  • Experienced employee communications professional, with proven expertise in all aspects of communications across multiple channels.
  • Proven track record in working with complex subject matters and in translating business strategy into consistent and compelling communications to drive engagement and understanding across a broad audience group.
  • Experience leading cultural and organisation change communication and strong understanding of HR and people processes and policies will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the employee life cycle and  working with Employee Value Propositions, and HR disciplines and products.
  • Undertaking comprehensive research and analysis exercises to deliver an insight-driven approach, with a healthy focus on monitoring, measurement and ROI.
  • Project management experience to prioritise and drive comms initiatives and deliver work on time and to budget.
