Your role will include the co-ordination and preparation of the monthly management accounts, reporting on variances as required and providing commercial insight. You will prepare and analyse balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, with a view to ensuring integrity of reporting and identification of any commercial risks or opportunities to improve the balance sheet position.
Monthly management reporting for our UK software business, this includes the preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing accruals, liaising with finance representatives in each entity to finalise results.
Analyse monthly results for senior management and be able to explain any unexpected results.
Assist with the preparation of consolidated reporting for Group and external party submissions to tight deadlines
Identifying areas for potential improvements in the balance sheet position and working with relevant finance managers in the business team to ensure the optimum balance sheet position is understood and achieved.
Assist with preparation of accounting memos for audit purposes on revenue recognition and other complex accounting arrangements
Ensuring that reporting is compliant with all relevant accounting standards and keeping up to date with new reporting standards that may impact the company
Working with various company structures and intercompany transactions including foreign exchange transactions and transfer pricing.
Reviewing finance processes in each entity to ensure that improvements are made continuously to help the businesses run more efficiently.
Assist with system efficiencies and rollout of Netsuite with international businesses
Keeping up to date on the energy and technology industry and being aware of events which might impact the business.
Preparation of invoicing schedules for SAAS agreements with UK and international customers to provide to the accounts receivable team
Managing creditor and debtor ledgers and dealing with any queries regarding payments or receipts
Assisting with audit queries and liaising with international audit teams
Review of quarterly VAT returns
Qualified Chartered Accountant essential
3 years work experience in a similar role is preferrable
Experience working in Netsuite or an ERP accounting system is ideal
In depth knowledge of FRS102 and IFRS
Advanced excel skills (including Pivot tables, advanced formulas, and macros)
Must be able to effectively communicate and present to senior management
Demonstrate ability to liaise with stakeholders and external parties confidently
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
