The A Side: A Day in The Life
To be the main point of responsibility for owning all aspects of day to day Management Accounting for the central UK Recorded Music company.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business including, Record Labels, Finance, IT, Commercial, Royalties, Legal and Tax departments.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Preparation and oversight of month end financials within corporate deadlines, including all accruals, interface closings, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Responsible for the monthly HFM submission to corporate finance, monthly management pack preparation and variance analysis on cash flow and the P&L
Financial accounting ownership, including assisting statutory accounts team and being the liaison with our external & internal auditors
Assist the FC in maintaining an effective control framework, including designing and implementing approval mechanisms for both our teams Onshore & Offshore
Understand current VAT legislation, being responsible for review of Quarterly group VAT return, working closely with the Tax team
Assisting the FC in compiling the annual budget and quarterly forecasts as well as taking responsibility for submissions to corporate finance, management packs and analysis
Become the main point of finance support for business departments (International Marketing, Brands, Sync, HR, Royalties, Commercial affairs, Legal)
Work to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of our offshore shared service centre. Continual process improvement to maximise centralisation
Management and development of a small team
Professionally Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Technically strong accountant
Enthusiastic, with interest in working in music; as mentioned ideally with previous experience within a media organization
The ability to operate at both a senior financial level as well as the more detailed, hands on approach
Self-motivated with good organisational and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
Previous experience with SAP, SAP Business Object Analysis for Office, BPC & HFM reporting suites
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Genuine interest in systems and system improvements
Previous experience in working with outsourced functions
Must be willing to travel
